Does anyone know where you can purchase really nice artificial jewelery sets for your wedding in Lahore?
Are there any good places where you can get really nice sets including the jummar and tikka to match with your bridal dress that does not look cheap and looks like the real set. I dont want to have to waste too much money on my set when i’m probably never going to wear the jhumar again. That would be a waste of money. So here’s the question to all you guys who have any experience at all buying Artifical yet STUNNING sets in Lahore..
just came back from lahore i did originally plan on wearing artificial but was very dissapointed with what i saw, so ended up getting a gold set - the finishing on a gold set is amazing and i think separates it from artificial. i saw artificial sets starting from 30,000 in some places in anarkali, hence the reason i thought might as get a real one. the artificial sets i saw didnt have any wow factors and craftman ship was poor - this is from a girl who was dead against wearing actual gold on her wedding day!
there is a bazaar near babar/bano bazar which have loads of jewellery places but most is traditional type stuff with the plastic hollow beads attached to it - thats if u want a replica gold set. there werent any decent crystal type sets for the prices they were asking.
Maybe. I had wanted some last time i went, bt decided not to, so i never really looked at the artificial ones carefully. I know lots of boutiques had nice jewelery but they were way too expensive.
artificial=artificial.....EVERYONE....WILL know that you are wearing artificial....and...my mother gave me a very wise advice...never gain a reputation of wearing artificial jewelery.....(i guess no one will believe if you are wearing the real thing..when you do...)..i apologize if i am not making any sense :)
my dad doesn't like when i or mom wear artificial jewellery- mom doesn't own anything like that. i guess he just doesn't like the way it looks and says if you have to wear something, make it the real thing, or don't bother. its sort of ingrained into me now... if its on a daily basis, i don't mind wearing fun stuff, but for shaadi's and things, i prefer the actual thing. i was kind of peeved about not getting an actual jhoomar/teeka for my wedding but then i was going to only wear it once, so it seemed alright.
having said that, i can appreciate why people buy artificial and even how pretty some pieces look... i don't like when they get seriously fake-looking which can happen with some of the coloured stones.
I saw close up pics of one girl wearing those fake sets..and they look very cheap...the beads looked awful..i think most people can differentiate between the fake and the real thing.
now very nice n beautiful silver with gold plated jewellery (bridal sets) r available in Main liberty market, Lahore, you can gave them sample design & they will make exactly the same 4 you :d
its infront of khusa mehal shop

I'm sorry but this sounds really elitist and snobby...as if artificial = bad.
What if someone cannot afford to wear gold or would prefer to spend their money on other things? what exactly is wrong with someone wearing artificial jewelery? if they will get a "bad" reputation b/c of it...then are those people really worth bothering about??
I've seen sets that have real stones and are gold plated or made out of 14Kt gold..but still desis call it fake.
ummmmm fake=cheap....that is the truth...kaan yehan se pakro ya wahan se...
do a little experiment of your own...get two equally beautiful designs.....one fake..and one gold....10 years or even 3 years down the line....you will have what you paid for...literally....hence fake=bad. It really is a waste of money......
people who are in denial think/say that fake looks like the real thing....
The artificial sets I've seen in Lahore look fake, and a friend I went with (owns a jewellery shop) said they make the "stones" out of broken beverage bottles. But you cud opt for a beautiful kundan jhoomar/teeka.
Sara :) I dont think its elitist or snobbish, its wise. I would feel horrible spending money on something that I know will hold absolutely no value in the future, especially jewelery. I dont buy tons of gold, but when I do buy, even the tiniest piece, I try to buy the authentic stuff.. I do borrow some of my moms stuff from time to time....I didnt wear jewelery...at all..before my nikah..and I am severely allergic to metal (fake..even silver)....but every now and then when I pass through the mall, I buy a cocktail ring..or a charm bracelet... :)
Forget the bridal jewellary lol-- did anyone watch the photoshoot of Asimyar tiwana and QYT's website? Sunita Mrshal was wearing some gorgeous earings-- From where can I can get something like tht ?
Regarding artifical jewelry--it is really hard to find artifical jewelry that looks as good as the real thing in Pakistan. Don't even bother, because you'll end up spending a lot of money on stuff that doesn't even hold up well.
Indians are far better at fake sets. If you are on a budget, the best thing to do would be to get a SILVER set that has been gold plated with REAL gold. A lot of Indian costume jewelers do that (you can find better quality gold-plated sets at higher end boutiques), but the difference is that they actually use real gemstones, not glass. Some stones, like tourmaline and topaz and amethyst, cost less than rubies and emeralds, but it is still affordable. Or if you go for a kundan look, it will look amazing and antique, but it won't drain your bank account. And with gold-plated silver, it still is a precious metal, will hold up pretty well and it will actually look very nice.
