Redneck may be a pejorative term, however, famous rednecks like Jeff Foxworthy and Miley Cyrus consider it a proud nationality. It is not a racial slur if the red necks themselves like to be termed as such!
People here in Michigan might know where Pakistan is if they actually bothered to listen to world news. The local news only talks about how a cat got stuck in a tree or the local restaurant is running a special.

I dont know if they forgot and thought they were in a comfortable white zone and thats why she said it. Everyone knows everyone and I kinda dont go to most events they hold so I am not that familiar nor are they with me.
I also dont like Indian doctors with thick accents (and some even some of curry). But I also dont like other people who I cant understand. Even some Americans have strong accents like in New Orleans or Lousiana that are impossible to understand. You should be checking a persons ability to perform their duties well
The other thing was that several people had recommended one doctor so obviously accent was not an issue for them otherwise they would have brought it up and not bothered mentioning him at all.
But we have Red Passports. They talk.
