my dad is the same. gets up early every morning and makes sure everyone else does too. he's dressed up as if he's going to work everyday and demands everyone sit at the breakfast table at the same time. i wouldnt call it stylish...but definitely more "proper". It is true that once u're dressed for success you are much more productive that you are in your PJs.
My dad only looks like a bum when he is just really ill. otherwise even when he is unwell he would wear a clean, pressed kurta shalwaar, shower, shave etc. Moi on the other hand dont tough the razor friday thru sunday. If I am sick, I am passed out in Pjs and tshirts, and thats what I am wearing around the house. he is always very proper, if its not a suit, its a sport coat, or pressed, starched kurta shalwars. He is comfortable that way.
My uncle, who is retired, gets up every morning, gets dressed, has a proper breakfast, reads the paper, watches Tv, goes out for a walk. walk into his house at any time and he is dressed to go. aside from the most formal of events what he normally wears around is good enough for a meeting, a social event.
I dunno..maybe I will be that way. but just looking at my dad, his old pics, his mannerisms, his style sense. I all of a sudden feel like a total bum.
anyone else have the same experience?
This is a trait of a Fraudia or soon to be a democrat... :)
Back to topic, my elders were not stylish. They were very simple with their oufit. I think as one becomes old, he/she gets tangled up in so many reponsiblities that personal looks are the last thing to think about.
McCain will have hard time, remember what those boat ads did to Kerry, those are the same guy who ran ads against McCain in repub. primaries, when he was against bush. also the anti war sentiment is high and McCain is pro war, it might hurt him, i would like to see him win but i dont think he'll make it out. i think newt with the southern support might pull it off, and he has a dark side, so at the end it will be Hillary and edwards in 08
what is a trait of a Fraudia or soon be to be a democrat? lets not be vague here
as for myself, I am niether a democrat nor a republican, I will support whoever makes sense. and it may mean one time is one group next time its another.
After all, I think back in 2000, the event I hosted raised a few hundred thousand dollars for The bush campaign. dunno how much you raised bing a diehard republican and all you know.
when i get old? yar I am already old. I care about my appearance (clothing and grooming), I think that i got from my dad who is known as a very well dressed person. the difference is that in my private time I am a bum compared to him. I would pull up a pair of jeans and toss on a tshirt or a polo shirt, but thats about it.
My dad is the same, I took him to the cinema's a couple of weeks ago and he insisted on wearing a suit! Managed to bribe him out of that one with the offer of a kebab after the film but he still wore the suit jacket and spayed on what smelt to be a whole bottle of some stinky Arab perfume.
And to think the man was born and bred in the UK.
I tell you, Pakis in the UK are more Paki than the Paki's in Pakistan.
I may not be into grooming when I am in my early 40's but definatly take care of health. Try not to gain weight, eat less sugar and definatly definatly take care of heart problems coz with guys...here it comes and other moment you are gone.
My dad is exactly the opposite of yours, unless he's working he wears Shalwar Kameez and no matter how many times in a day my mum irons it for him it always ends up creased (don't blame him, SK is impractical), my mum's always telling him off for that but he just says "quit fussing woman, this is how I feel comfy". Mom looks after herself though, I guess all women do.
My grandad (may Allaah bless him with Jannat Al-Firdaus) however always looked after himself, all the way from his youth till his old age.. Very metrosexual (supporting the latest fashions/trends, and he was very handsome too with high cheek bones, sparkling blue eyes, fair hair) in his youth and stylish in his old age (even his rosary had to match the color of his Shalwar Kameez).
