Anti-Pakistani

Would you go for a rishta from a person who is of Indian descent (fully or partially), grew up wherever, and is telling you they are “Anti-Pakistani”, and refuse to refer to themselves as Pakistani even though they may be half Pakistani?

Re: Anti-Pakistani

Are you sure they didn’t say “My Aunty is Pakistani”?

Re: Anti-Pakistani

No, the words coming out of their mouth are:

“I’m anti-Pakistani” “I don’t refer to myself as Pakistani, I say I am Indian” (although half their family at least is settled in Karachi).

I know this guy’s cousins. I remember one of them told me he was Indian and both parents are from India. Then I found out both of his parents grew up in Karachi.

I don’t get that.

Re: Anti-Pakistani

Wow, you tell me his address and I’ll go beat him up lol jk whatever, I will give him a pity look and move on!

Re: Anti-Pakistani

You should be thankful they are not British

Re: Anti-Pakistani

Race shouldn’t matter if the two love each other.

Re: Anti-Pakistani

Nope. An anti-Pakistani attitude will come with contempt and stereotypes and possibly discrimination; not a good foundation for any kind of relationship…least of all marriage.

Re: Anti-Pakistani

I watched it. Contrary to the Coopers’ beliefs, they end up looking more paindu the harder they try to rid themselves of their Indian-ness. It’s ironic.

Re: Anti-Pakistani

Why would he marry a Pakistani then? Any why would a Pakistani in their right mind marry him?

Sounds bizarre tbh.. would stay well clear..

Re: Anti-Pakistani

Anyone with preconceived notions of people from any country is an arsehole, better stay away.

Re: Anti-Pakistani

no way !!!

Anti-Pakistani

Full of contradictions. I wouldnt even give myself a headache over it

Re: Anti-Pakistani

i think he should be taught a real lesson.

marry him, pcg. :\

Re: Anti-Pakistani

if an indian is considering a pakistani’s rishta why he/she would say they are anti-pakistani is beyond me. :smack:

what’s wrong with Pakistanis anyway. :naraz:

Re: Anti-Pakistani

Might have a interesting story/experience on why he is anti pakistani ?

Re: Anti-Pakistani

It’s a general attitude to be anti Pakistani. I mean ask anyone in Pakistan and they’re anti India. It’s not an intellectual decision. Just an emotional one played upon by a skewed media.

I wouldn’t marry one because I wouldn’t my pakistaniness to be undermined.

Re: Anti-Pakistani

PCG, if he said this to you knowing that you are a Pakistani then imagine how caring he would be as a husband.

Re: Anti-Pakistani

identity complexes. they are always unreasonable and very shallow.
we all hold many incompatible believes, habbits and ideologies incompatible with our partners. It doesn’t mean one can’t marry or stay married happily with that person.

we are humans beings, not iPhone designed to spec!
so relax there…can’t jump to conclusion over one thing

Re: Anti-Pakistani

Now my question to you is weren’t you a ‘Anti-Pakistani’ on all those times when you didn’t like anything happening in Pakistan or you didn’t follow some rules in your life, or you didn’t agree to an agenda or customs in Pakistan or when you feel like yourself not inline with Pakistani constitution or Pakistani Laws.

I think all of us are ‘Anti-Pakistani’ it’s just the matter of situation we are in on random times. As far as the difference between you or any other Pakistani with that dude is concerned he claims that he’s ‘Anti-Pakistani’ and you don’t.

Re: Anti-Pakistani

Criticizing a custom, or law, or fashion dress designer, or actor, or quality of choorian in Pakistan doesn’t make one anti-Pakistan.

Anyway, guy was super weird. He took the anti-pak comment back, said he was joking, and it is a stupid match anyway, because dude is selling colognes at the mall aparently and never went to college.

Which is like so many guys where I grew up…
