1.Yes there are corrupt people in the army but to a far lesser extent than our civil political parties.
2. You people have not seen a real dictator! Putin is a dictator; he serves his critics with either a bullet or a small nuclear bomb that they swallow.

4. zimbabwe's president is a dictator.

First point is debatable and by giving extreme examples you only suceed in making mush sound like a lesser evil. evil none the less. why should civilians be thankful that he is not bad as hitler? why cant they be angry that he isn't as good as Jinnah? Easier to judge things on merits of right and wrong rather than to be grateful there is worse going around. that is the mentality which keeps a bully happy.

Now coming to the thread, Look at the American/UK society, an American/UK citizen is much more educated, much more aware of human rights, much more aware of racial equality and freedom of speech than our average Pakistani, they believe that all humans are created equals whether British, American, or a Nepali. Their armies are creating havoc around the world killing people in thousands but not one day will you see an American or a Briton disrespecting their armed forces.

Just to get the records straight I invite Pakistani’s living in Britain to go and visit the air force base near Cambridge; you will be amazed to see a Flt/Lt house in a country like Britain. He/ she has a house of more than a “kanal” where as the average house in Britain is a postage stamp house, plus ask them what do they get after retirement and you will be shocked? But you never see a Briton or an American abusing their army? Why?** Because they are not a characterless nation of disrespectful people** who would badmouth the army and throw flower petals on Justic iftikhar chodury who promoted his son after failing the civil service exam to the top level civil service job. tsk tsk tsk…..

Thank God!! I don’t stereotype, I think you lot are an insignificant minority of BG’s who exist in every society.

2. Pak army also run country now and then.
3. Pak army get batman as servants.
4. Pak army has real estate empire
5. Pak army get cantt areas in every major city in heart of city.
6. Its presence can be felt after walking 1-4 miles anywhere in Pakistan.

no some views on other Armies in the world

1. I live within 1 KM of GHQ of British army and I work near Sandhurst, yet I cant see any Army personal or vehicles only guards inside its gate. same goes to other roads, city areas. same goes for coutries I have been to Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal
2. They dont get batmans
3. they dont have real estate or commercial wings.
4. They dont run the country
5. They dont get extra retirement packages different to civillains.

So what makes Pak army so special? If Army is getting bashed by public then they shouldnt think they are untouchables. Everyone use to love Pakistan army and still love them but thats on decline.

Army prime job is defend the country not to run it and when required in special incidents.
Pak army is so powerfull they can still put pressure on a corrupt civillian regimes to act properly if they think the intervention is required.

^^^ Pay on above link is just average pay and less than gruduate pay for other jobs in UK. starting pay is almost minimum wage in UK. 14K again subject to taxes.
I dont know do Army pay taxes on their pay in Pakistan?/

there is RAF Base near to my place here in London. I pass by everyday, I can post a picture of so called "1 Kanal residences" 6 floor high small 1/2 Bed appartment building, nothing extravgant.

UK homes are smaller but not that smaller apart from council estates in east london or similar areas. Average UK house has 3/4 area as open as standard area. 1/4 is covered area. average area of the houses are more than 15 Marla in Pakistani terms. thats small family size house.

Army and Key public servants get help in getting mortgages for houses but only for small houses. nothing is part of the pay package!

Excellent argument . An army officer who has gone through rigorous training and who has passed courses in world class academies and proven to be at par with world class officers, how can he be compared with a simple BA who later on becomes MPA or MNA

Just reflects the mentality of ruling class of the poor nation of Pakistan. They feel that they are superior to rest of Pakistanis hence they have a right to rule. They do not beleive in rule of people.

If you want to invest money in an institution, and are apprehensive of corruption, who are you going to call, the Pakistan Army (Askari and other army ventures), If You are sick and need to go to a hospital, which do you trust as low cost and effective, the Pakistan army (CMH). If the security in your city is failing and you can’t find a way, who do you call, the Pakistan Army (Karachi’s Security). If you don’t want to be jobless, have a settled and uneventful life, who do you call, The Pakistan Army ( Turn out at AS&IC). If your land has been squatted upon, or you have been dealt with unjustly, who are you going to call, The Pakistan Army (NAB). If you cant afford private schools, and want to send your kids to a reputable school, who do you call, The Pakistan Army (Army public and PAF Schools). If You want to buy a house in a safe and secure area, who do you call , The Pakistan Army (cantonments and Army Housing). From the time you wake up till the time you sleep, directly or indirectly, who do you trust, The Pakistan army.

But when it comes to running the country, who do you call, The corrupt democratic parties.

well I saw it from my own eyes, the Guys name was Flt/Lt Roy Edmunds and was serving the british army.
We had a barbecue in his back yard, and I was in an airforce base, so what ever crap you people can come up is not even close.

Damn!!! I just read the link, How blahdy twisted of you not to print it here. Can you believe a captin=Flt/lt is getting 41000 pounds an anum, BLAHDY HELL!! That is more than a person working in a bank or in the “Research and Development” facility of a big private computer firm in UK.
CAN YOU SAY THAT A PAKISTANI CAPTIN IN THE ARMY MAKES MORE THAN A BANK EMPLOYEE WITH THE SAME YEARS OF EXPERIENCE..
