I dunno but i think "most" families back home are dysfunctional. When i was in Pakistan, our house was cetainly emotionally charged, i dunno if it come into dysfunctional or not. Things changed as we moved abroad, when i was 6.

look dude, just because you joined the evil empire doesnt mean you HAVE to like it.
pak military is monopolizing and unduly exploiting the country's resources, manipulating the country's democracy and could probably do a better job in its primary role if it didnt have its foot (to be polite) in every crack it can find.
now do you have to train hard to be in a position to exploit the country's very limited wealth and economy, yes. harder than other comparable armies, probably not. still, if the output at the end was merely the protection of the nation's borders, you'd find people respecting you and the institution for it.
unfortunately, thats not just what the army does, is it?

Now coming to the thread, Look at the American/UK society, an American/UK citizen is much more educated, much more aware of human rights, much more aware of racial equality and freedom of speech than our average Pakistani, they believe that all humans are created equals whether British, American, or a Nepali. Their armies are creating havoc around the world killing people in thousands but not one day will you see an American or a Briton disrespecting their armed forces.
Just to get the records straight I invite Pakistani’s living in Britain to go and visit the air force base near Cambridge; you will be amazed to see a Flt/Lt house in a country like Britain. He/ she has a house of more than a “kanal” where as the average house in Britain is a postage stamp house, plus ask them what do they get after retirement and you will be shocked? But you never see a Briton or an American abusing their army? Why?** Because they are not a characterless nation of disrespectful people** who would badmouth the army and throw flower petals on Justic iftikhar chodury who promoted his son after failing the civil service exam to the top level civil service job. tsk tsk tsk…..

Dude you stoop to the level of threatening and you lose the moral high ground. Its fine to state your point of view. You dont like the people of Pakistan, leave army, quit protecting them. But being a supporter of army and insulting the very civilians army is suppose to guard is beyond any sort of sense. Army is not army without a nation and if you curse the nation then what prizes your army guarding that nation?

Very true I agree. but I am human, Look at the crap people throw at the army, the things they say, and are saying, such things are unacceptable. The armed forces have put their lives, that mean’s the future of themselves and their families at steak for these civilians, and when you see these civilians with this awful hatred towards the army you are bound to loose your calm.
BTW: I did not stereotype anywhere; I have always held accountable a selected group of people badmouthing the army.

There are many among the barracks that are corrupt, we have had cases of sons of some of armed officials doing rape and getting of easy. Right now army is abusing the power thus the anger amongst civilians. Stereotypes don’t materialize out of thin air. You are not the only human on this board you know. all of us fallible. nobody likes a dictator and unfortunately current dictator is from army, therefore army is on slippery slope.

Next time you abuse a Pakistani soldier, please run these statistics in your mind before spitting out a judgment.
Pakistani soldier’s whether Army, Air force or Navy, Have to go through the following experiences….
When you have to wake up at four in the morning just to scream at the top of your voice with your spit drying, and mind sleeping, saying “Pakistan Zindabad.”
when in (-1) temperature, at the Pakistan Air force Academy, in the month of January at 2 o clock in the night, you have to summersault in a dirty pond just because your seniors think this is the way to crush Pakistan’s enemy and engrain patriotism in you.
When in a parade, in June, on a frigin hot summers day you have to Parade up and down a 2 KM parade square, just for the solidarity and respect of your country.
When in June or July you have to do a hand stand on your head on a sweltering tarmac, just to prove it to Indians that we will burn our scalp and head for our country’s honor.
You eat, breath, live, and prosper, because Pakistan is there for four years day and night. That’s the patriotism that is inculcated in every ounce of your blood.
All my course mates who were in GD(P), when you asked them , “why did you join the air force” not one of them gave the expected answer that We joined to learn fighter flying. They all said “We joined to get “Shahadat” for our country” I was totally puzzled and used to make fun of them, and say I just joined to get my degree.
Last but not least on your graduation, you swear your “LIFE” to the country in front of the Pakistani flag and the Quran.
So Next time Please Do Not Question the Army’s motive.

Excellent argument
All those people who bash the Army have no argument to support their line of thinking. An army officer who has gone through rigorous training and who has passed courses in world class academies and proven to be at par with world class officers, how can he be compared with a simple BA (In some cases not even that) who later on becomes MPA or MNA. At least in other countries Politicians have some background and standards too and thats why they have some respect. In our country these are all manipulative, illitrate rich thugs pretending to be the saviours of this nation.
