So where does it say under Islam to destroy ancient pre-Islamic artifacts?
How much longer before the Egyptian people who are openly sympathetic to militant Islam, al-Qaeda, and the Taliban engage in destroying the pyramids?

Savages killing stone statues...No difference between these animals and those that destroyed the Babri Masjid or those Masajid in Bosnia or Kashmir...
These buggers should grow up and start killing real people indiscriminately and invading other countries killing millions of innocents like real civilized human beings...

In translation, you have no problem destroying ancient pre-Islamic heritage.
Got'cha.
Re: Another Taliban attack on Buddha statues in Pakistan
That statue needs to go.....wth is it doin in Pakistan.
Destroying statues is from the Deen, those who are calling them savages and morons, need to be reminded that Ibrahim (as) and Muhammad (sas) destroyed statues, and commanded us to do the same.
Re: Another Taliban attack on Buddha statues in Pakistan
What I don't understand is that if the presence of these, even when not used for worship, warrants their destruction, then why did Hazrat Umar (ra) not order the Bamiyan bhuddas destroyed even though his forces conquered Bamiyan? Did the Taliban and those who continue to support them today perhaps have some understanding of Islam that Hazrat Umar (ra) and the Sahabah did not?
Such large statues could not possibly be missed by devout Muslims and reported, yet the early Muslims did not destroy them.
Similarly, no early Muslims during the time of any of the first 4 khalifs destroyed the Egyptian sphinxes, such as the Great Sphinx of Giza. It was only attacked in the 1300s when a local Sufi discovered that it was being worshipped, so he destroyed the nose to deface it.
Again, given that the Sphinx would have passed into Muslim control during the rule of Abu Bakr (ra), why did he, Hazrat Umar (ra), Hazrat Usman (ra) and Hazrat Ali (ra) not have them destroyed if destroying such prominent statues is in fact part of the Deen?
Re: Another Taliban attack on Buddha statues in Pakistan
Yeah.....okay.
Keep it in context. Those statues that were destroyed by Hazrat Ibrahim (as) and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) were because of pagan culture of that time. People went and worshipped those idols. Present day Pakistan, I highly doubt there are any bhuddist that go and worship these statues, which are just a remnant of what our country use to be.
There's no need to destroy them because they pose no threat. They should be preserved as part of our history.
Again, numbnut morons.

The question should be wtf are u still doing in pakistan.
Destroying statues is from the Deen
Deen also teches you to learn and know how to differentiate between right and wrong use your head for a good cause not distruction .Deen also teaches you that respect other religion even though nobody worship this statue in pakistan.Deen also teaches you to stop smoking watever you are and get a life.
those who are calling them savages and morons, need to be reminded that Ibrahim (as) and Muhammad (sas) destroyed statues, and commanded us to do the same.
Yeah those were the statues which were worshipped.
Now mr. einstien tell me how many people in pakistan actually worship this statue......
And who in the world has given right to one moronic group to harm national and historcial treasure.
Re: Another Taliban attack on Buddha statues in Pakistan
If destroying idols of worship garners the title of numbnut moron then I guess every Prophet of Allah would be one as well…
What were the statues doing to Ibrahim :as:? Yet he destroyed them…What were the statues doing to Hz. Isa :as:, yet he destroyed them which were in the temple of Solomon…What were the statues doing to the Holy Prophet :saw:that were in the Kaaba? Yet he destroyed them…
So either you follow them and see that it was an act carried out the way they did or you can be a modernist and call them numbnuts…
Re: Another Taliban attack on Buddha statues in Pakistan
Yeah Masha'Allah, here come the saviours of Islam, appointed by none other than themselves.
Hyperactive, read my second post. It's about context not about modernism. Those statues pose no threat to Islam or muslims. Muslims are not led astray by those statues, and neither do you see anyone else worshipping those statues. Or do you? A simple yes or no would do.

If they can dish it out, then they should not be crying when it comes back to hit them.
Muslims think they can exert their superiority upon others without any repercussions.
Well that's not how the world works.
Re: Another Taliban attack on Buddha statues in Pakistan
Here’s a question…
When the Holy Prophet :saw: destroyed the statues that were inside the Kaaba, couldn’t he have just transported them someplace? Why did he have to break them?
Now, transport yourself back to the time this happened…You are a non-Muslim and you see the statues of your gods being trashed…What would you call the Holy Prophet :saw: at that time…Apart from numbnuts you’d probably call him some other choice words as well…
What would your thoughts be were you a Muslim at that time?
Now we come to 2007, the age of self hating Muslims…The same act done 1500 years ago is repeated by other Muslims…And what do you call them? Numbnuts…One Muslim calling another Muslim a numbnut for actions that in no way either benefit or harm you…
You will argue, oh, that’s bad publicity for Islam…
Today you call these people numbnuts tomorrow your children will call those who pray 5 times a day numbnuts…I have heard families of those Muslims more advanced than you already do that…
You are not responsible for the actions of your brothers…But you will be held accountable for calling other Muslims derogatory names…It is a grave sin to call a Muslim brother by a derogatory name…Be more concerned with that…
Re: Another Taliban attack on Buddha statues in Pakistan
You’re still dodging the main question… Were the statues being worshipped?
Re: Another Taliban attack on Buddha statues in Pakistan
WOW…
just tell me one thing genius… do you understand what we are trying to say here…
prophets distroyed statues which were worshipped.
This poor statue is symbol and master piece of ancient human architecture…no body is worshipping it … we are merely trying to preserve a histrocial treasure… now tell me in what way its harming you guys.

Re: Another Taliban attack on Buddha statues in Pakistan
There were more than 900 statues in the Kaaba…Some were worshipped some were not…Yet, all were destroyed…Even statues that were not worshipped were destroyed…Some statues in there were also thousands of years old…All were destroyed…
Why?
I hate to sound like I am blackmailing you on a spiritual level but either you are right or the Holy Prophet :saw: was…
And you know where my money is…
