Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah’s (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (Radhiyallaho anho) says:

"I wish you had seen some of us living on a starvation diet for several days, successively, so much so that we could not even stand erect. On account of spasms of hunger, I would lie on my belly and press my stomach against the ground or keep a stone tied to my abdomen.

Once, I intentionally sat in wait for some notable people to pass that way. As Hadhrat Abu Bakr (Radhiyallaho anho) came along, I joined in conversation with him, intending to continue the talk till we reach his home, where I expected him to invite me to share his meals, as was his wont. But his answer was brief, and my plan did not work.

The same thing happened with Hadhrat Umar, (Radhiyallaho anho) when he chanced that way. The Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wa-sallam) himself was the next to come. A smile spread on his face when he saw me, for he at once divined why I was sitting there. 'Come with me, Abu Hurairah', he said, and I accompanied him to his house.

He took me in, where a bowl of milk was brought before him. He asked, 'Who brought this milk?" and was told that somebody had sent it as a present. He bade me to go and invite all the Suffah friends. The Suffah people were treated as everyone's guests by all the Muslims. They were such persons who had neither hearth nor home of their own, nor any other means of livelihood.

Their number varied with time. But at this particular juncture, they mustered seventy in all. The Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) would send them in groups of two or four each to the well-to-do Sahabah as guests. He himself would pass on to them all that came to him as 'Sadaqah', and would share the gifts too with them."

Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (Radhiyallaho anho) says:

"When the Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) asked me to invite all these persons, I naturally had some misgivings, for the milk was so little that it could hardly suffice a single person. Also, I was aware that the Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) would ask myself to serve the milk to the others first, and a server is always the last and, more often than not, gets the least of the lot. Anyway, out I went, and fetched them all.

The Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) said to me: Hadhrat 'Abu Hurairah (Radhiyallaho anho), do serve the milk to them.' I took the bowl to each person in turn, and he drank the contents to his heart's desire, and returned the same to me, till all of them were served. The Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) then held the goblet in his own hand, smiled at me, and remarked;

Only two of us are left now!' 'Quite so', I replied. 'Then take it,' he said. I needed no second bidding, and took enough. He exhorted me to have more, and I had my fill; till I declared that I had no room for any more. He then took hold of the bowl, and drained the still remaining milk."

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

This isnt relevent butt I sometimes wonder ... when did abu hurera accept islam, I've heared that was fateh-makah, so how long did he stay with prophet s.a.w that He has couted so many hadiths ?

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah’s (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

It’s a conspiracy…All the 124,000 Sahabas, with the exception of 2 were contacted by the Illuminati and the Freemasons to cover and hide the real story behind Abu Hurayrah :razi:

Only two Sahabas knew the real secret which has been passed down to the Momineen in the form of 12 quatrains…Those quatrains are called the Mahdi Code…

The authors of the DaVinci code are coming out with this as their next bestseller…

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

wow i think i need much more explaination here ... I seriously have no idea about Mahdi code, or the secret u were mentioning
Wasalam

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah’s (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

:biggthumb

Some people just cannot stomach Abu Hurayrah :razi:… Paiet mein gharbaar ho jaati hai.

They got to know that it is Allah’s (swt) wish to grant knowledge & wisdom to whom He wishes - “knowledge & wisdom” generally doesn’t normally pass through genes or DNA

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah’s (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

so when wisdom and knowledge gets to abu hurera he starts comparing others with Ali like … Agar Ali Ilm ka darwaza hain to flaan chaath ( roof ) hai aur flaan parnala ? … is being parnala even something to be proud of and when u think about it … old cities had doors but not roof parnala’s and windows … lahore is an example !
one more example when hurera gets all the knowledge and wisdom he declares when to buy onions ? am sure u r lost … if u think about it u actually are lost !

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

Whats a parnala and when do you buy onions? Just curious as to why onion buying is in Hadiths.

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

Lol its funny .. i dunno what to call these parnala's in english... They are like the pipes that everyone has in there houses to get rid of rain water from top floors. And Abt unions theress a funny hadith but i dunt wana type it now without source .....there are alot of haidths that u cant believe ...am sure u have cam accross some of em !

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

Like those nalees in the old houses in Pakistan? I think i know what you're talking about.

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

yep ... you are close, they are noticeable when its raining hard .. these pipes are flooding and nobody wants to get closer to them ...

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

aqeel, what is your problem dude? why do you have to turn every thread into shia sunni discussion? If you love this topic so much, then pm me and we'll have a formal debate.

i mean honestly, your arguments are pathetic and you are always stuck at one thing.

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

AKB, don't get too mad; Aqeel asked a legitimate question about Abu Huraira, and so far he hasn't gotten any real answers, only those which are insulting; is that the way Muslims answer questions about religion?

Aqeel has a similar background to mine, coming from a mixed Sunni/Shia family. I'm sure he has had these discussions within his family as I have had with mine. But it's always better to seek answers from outside your family about religion, since family can either be (a) extremely biased or (b) cordial to the other side or (c) avoid the issue completely.

Unfortunately (c) was in our family, and that's one of the reasons I don't care much for religion anymore.

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

^i don't think legitimate questions include insults and bashing without any basic knowledge. bro you need to check his posts and then you'll realize what i mean

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

I do see what you are talking about; and it is unfortunate when both sides get into these mudslinging matches.

But his initial post was:
when did abu hurera accept islam, I've heared that was fateh-makah, so how long did he stay with prophet s.a.w that He has couted so many hadiths ?
That seems pretty legitimate to me.

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

^ so he heard that Abou Hurairah (RA) accepted Islam during fateh makah. what is his source? why didn't quote us his source of info? 2nd of all, if he is asking us then we are going to give him a sunni source. will he accept it? The answer is NO. That's why i said it is not legitimate question because he just wants to start another sunni shia thing. On top of that he shows no respect for shahabs except maybe few. For some reasons, shias think Prophet (SAW) only had one companion and one daughter (May Allah be pleased with them) and that's it. So yeh, Islam was spread by 3 people. Let's add this into Islamic miracles list. Prophet (SAW) made a grave error by trusting all the other shabas (RA) and married off his daugters to them and married to their daughters. Yet, Prophet (SAW) was the greatest, and noblest of Prophets (AS).

In some cases, it might be worth starting this discussion but when you don't make sense and you don't even know what you are talking about then starting same thing over and over again only make you look like a fool. I honestly never have problems with my fellow believers in Islam but the danger of what he does is that when you get in a discussion with a non-Muslim then your arguments will be trashed all over the place. And that really hurts Islam.

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

AKB,

Shias believe in other companions as well, there are not only three, so no need for the sectarian exaggerations. Don't be like those whom you criticize.

Now let's wait and see what Aqeel has to say.

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

leader of ansars Sa'd b Ubadah[ra] and his son Qays [ra] provided generously for people of the suffah so much so that certain companions asked him to be moderate ...he retorted "are u trying to make my son a miser"

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

I guess u need to scroll up a little ... But if asking a question means turning all threads to sunni shia discussion then i do love it ... What is a debate gona do !! am not here to preach Islam ... Loooking at my knowledge i rather learn then preach !

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah's (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

Thanks Moonshineer for being my lawyer :p i feel special but i might as well asnwer my questions my self
ALLAH KA BANDA ... i said i heared it thats y i was asking .... if i had a source i wud be telling rather than asking !!!!! And then the next couple of posts didnt answer my question but brought in shia/ sunni discussion ! and my basis of religion are based more upon sunni sources than shia sources !!! that offcourse doesnt mean that i wud always accpet em ... but i will admire em ! plz get me a source Thanks

and discussion does make me ask few questions like u mentioned Rasool s.aw gave his daugthers to shabas i personally dont belive he had any daughter beside fatima s.a but again asking a question >>> if he gave two daughters to usman which made him dunoorain ... "2 noors wala" then how come some sunni's dunt beleive Rasool s.a.w wasnt noor ?

Re: Another Story of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah’s (Radhiyal-lahu anhu) Hunger

Mr aqeel - Your query is a typical Shia oriented – go to Shia sites and you will see how Hz. Abu Hurayrah (ra) is lampooned. Your query is very subtly veiled.

Let me answer your query but am sure it will never satisfy your closed by pretending to be ‘inquiring mind’.

Hz. Abu Hurayrah (ra) made a sincere supplication saying: “O Lord, (I ask You for what my two companions have asked and) I ask You for knowledge which will not be forgotten.”

In response the Prophet ( peace be on him) said: ‘Ameen.’

Now you cannot begrudge why Allah (swt) accepted the supplication to which the most beloved of Allah (swt) had said in response: ‘Ameen.’

You can read the following from here:

*Abu Hurayrah loved the Prophet a great deal and found favor with him. He was never tired of looking at the Prophet whose face appeared to him as having all the radiance of the sun and he was never tired of listening to him. Often he would praise God for h is good fortune and say: “Praise be to God Who has guided Abu Hurayrah to Islam.” Praise be to God Who has taught Abu Hurayrah the Quran." “Praise be to God who has bestowed on Abu Hurayrah the companionship of Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.”

On reaching Madinah, Abu Hurayrah set his heart on attaining knowledge. Zayd ibn Thabit the notable companion of the Prophet reported : "While Abu Hurayrah and I and another friend of mine were in the Masjid praying to God Almighty and performing dhikr to Him, the Messenger of God appeared. He came towards us and sat among us. We became silent and he said: “Carry on with what you were d oing.” "So my friend and I made a supplication to God before Abu Hurayrah did and the Prophet began to say Ameen to our dua. "

Then Abu Hurayrah made a supplication saying: “O Lord, I ask You for what my two companions have asked and I ask You for knowledge which will not be forgotten.” "The Prophet, peace be on him, said: ‘Ameen.’

“We then said: 'And we ask Allah for knowledge which will not be forgotten, and the Prophet replied: 'The Dawsi youth has asked for this before you.” "With his formidable memory, Abu Hurayrah set out to memorize in the four years that he spent with the Prophet, the gems of wisdom that emanated from his lips. He realized that he had a great gift and he set about to use it to the full in the service of I slam.

He had free time at his disposal. Unlike many of the Muhajirin he did not busy himself’ in the market-places, with buying and selling. Unlike many of the Ansar, he had no land to cultivate nor crops to tend. He stayed with the Prophet in Madinah and went with him on journeys and expeditions. Many companions were amazed at the number of hadith he had memorized and often questioned him on when he had heard a certain hadith and under what circumstances. Once Marwan ibn al-Hakam wanted to test Abu Hurayrah’s power of memory.*

**Some more sources for you from Sahih Bukhari **

Narrated Abu Huraira: There is none among the companions of the Prophet who has narrated more Hadiths than I except 'Abdallah bin Amr (bin Al-'As) who used to write them and I never did the same. Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 3, Number 113:

Narrated Abu Huraira: I said to Allah’s Apostle “I hear many narrations (Hadiths) from you but I forget them.” Allah’s Apostle said, “Spread your Rida’ (garment).” I did accordingly and then he moved his hands as if filling them with something (and emptied them in my Rida’) and then said, “Take and wrap this sheet over your body.” I did it and after that I never forgot any thing. Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 3, Number 119:

Narrated Ibrahim bin Al-Mundhir: Ibn Abi Fudaik narrated the same as above (Hadith…119) but added that the Prophet had moved his hands as if filling them with something and then he emptied them in the Rida’ of Abu Huraira. Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 3, Number 120:

*Narrated Abu Huraira: People say that I have narrated many Hadiths (The Prophet’s narrations). Had it not been for two verses in the Qur’an, I would not have narrated a single Hadith, and the verses are:
“Verily those who conceal the clear sign and the guidance which We have sent down . . . (up to) Most Merciful.” (2:159-160). And no doubt our Muhajir (emigrant) brothers used to be busy in the market with their business (bargains) and our Ansari brothers used to be busy with their property (agriculture). But I (Abu Huraira) used to stick to Allah’s Apostle contented with what will fill my stomach and I used to attend that which they used not to attend and I used to memorize that which they used not to memorize. * Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 3, Number 118:

Seems like you must really some confused guy –

Your religion is based more from Sunni sources and yet you wouldn’t necessarily accept them

How can you base your faith on something you don’t believe???

I will repeat what I had in some other thread that I envy the time you have on your hands to post over here.
