Re: Am I a confused Christian?
Psyah: A lot of emotions are attached with one's religion, as such excuse me for saying this:
Where is the proof for anything, any of the Gods/prophets said.
*Jesus, Son of God - no proof
Mary, virgin - no proof
Resurrection, - no proof
Adam/Eve - no proof
Noah's ark - no proof
Prophet alone in cave, talking to God, - no proof.
Ganga river, Hindus bathe in it, & it purify our sins - ?? No proof
Muslims go to heaven, non muslims to hell - no proof.
Etc etc
- Common sense, sometimes forces us to question blind faith - it does not mean PakiQueen is confused. Just curious.

Yes your questions are valid ... but so are the reverse questions ...
*Jesus not the Son of God - any proof?
Mary not a virgin - any proof?
Resurrection, - any proof for or against?
and so on ...
The problem is your starting point in the line of questioning is wrong. In a situation where something can neither be proven or rejected then other things must be done in order to gain weight regarding the matter.
Some people resort to their personal experiences and say "because I have never seen such a thing I cannot believe it to be true" ... however others will look for signs and evidence to support their arguments.
For example there is a claim "the Qur'an was a product of people's work" this can be tested ... in fact the Qur'an itself brings the test to us ... "Bring one verse like it" ... also the way it has been narrated and brought to us multiple witnesses have confirmed that the Qur'an had been revealed before their eyes when Muhammad (SAW) used to receive the Word he used to experience a weighty thing and deliver it while others used to document it. To say otherwise is to make the claim without proof ... We also have multiple character witnesses that confirm the truthfulness of Muhammad (SAW) ... and reason makes us realise that he (SAW) lived in humbleness and did not gain material wealth from his prophethood ... all of these add credibility to the religion.
There is no way we can know that Mary (AS) was a virgin, but with the Qur'an that has been demonstrated as being the Word of God - at least there is no choice to believe that any other humans did not add or subtract from it ... ths books confirms her virginity and also states that Jesus (AS) is not God.
In the absence of direct proof we have to gather empirical evidence and deduce by analogy and using these methods we can see there is far more supporting the ideas in religions than going against them ... *
