Zulfiqar Mirza reaches London to expedite probe against Altaf - DAWN.COM

                     KARACHI: Former home minister of Sindh province, Dr Zulfiqar  Mirza on Saturday reached London to help British authorities investigate  among other charges, money laundering and incitement to violence  against MQM chief Altaf Hussain.

Sources in Mirza’s family told Dawn.com that the former provincial minister would meet Scotland Yard officials in next few days. Mirza, who is settled with his family in Dubai, had flown to London when he was contacted by the British officials.

London’s Metropolitan Police and the Scotland Yard have confirmed that they are currently investigating the above mentioned charges against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader, who is settled in Britain.

**Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari, who is at present in London also, telephoned Mirza requesting him to not meet with the British investigators, sources informed Dawn.com. The latter, however, refused to abide by the president’s advice. **:biggthumb:

The Scotland Yard officials requested Mirza to reproduce the evidences, he had offered to present against the MQM and its chief Altaf Hussain back in 2011.

The senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader had resigned as vice president of PPP’s Sindh chapter as well as membership of the Sindh Assembly following spat with MQM – the then coalition partner of President Zardari’s party at the centre and in Sindh.

Mirza had leveled serious allegations on MQM terming the party and its head responsible for target killings in Karachi. He not only accused Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad of patronising target killers but also accused MQM’s former minister for ports and shipping Babar Ghauri of being responsible for disappearance of Nato containers.

MQM, however, had condemned all the allegations hurled at it by Zulfiqar Mirza.

Interesting development indeed. IK is also in London at the moment, I wouldn't be surprised if Met knocks on his door too (if he hasn't already played his part already).

If Altaf is responsible for killings then so is this Mirza. Calling him sher, in hatred of Altaf, is a show of bias.
mirza destroyed the lives of lyari people when he spread weapons among criminal gangs. Today thousands of innocent Kachhi memon are migrating from lyari to Thatta and Badin due to these criminal gangs killing them based on ethnicity.

Bhai yeh thread barhay bhai ke naam hay. If MZ is responsible for killing where are the proofs or links. Did Karachi Police ever filed a FIR against him? If you have a proof against him why not proceed to Scotland Yard and provide to the investigating officers?

If you havent followed the chain of events, and are not aware of the role played by PTI in this, then you slept through the best part.

And if a criminal like Zulfiqar Mirza who admitted to arming lyari gangs by handing out thousands of weapon licenses is your sher, then Allah rehem karay.

You do know that AH is not being prosecute for what he did in Karachi, but for killing in the UK, and possibly on charges of money laundering?

I have heard rumors that IK has taken with him some evidence of Zahra Hussain's murder with him to UK to share with the scotland yard. She was murdered after Bhai had made the "meray isharay pe talwaaron say chalnikar dengay" speech.

I know very well. But Scotland Yard needs proof what role played by PTI. Your criminal ZM taking all proof against AH and members of his party is doing a great favor to IK and nirales. Otherwise your hue and cry without proof would have gone down to the gutter. MQM would have said that being minority in Pakistan they are being persecuted by Punjabis. What proof have you to deny it?

Giving witness against AH aor fizool bakwaas aor time zia karna aor baat hay. Scotland Yard was already active against MQM leader three years ago and raid in his house was in connection with the murder, where new revelations of cash evolved. I was talking about IK's case against AH many years ago, what had happened to that case? If IK is in London it high time to contact Scotland Yard and revive his case. Why this has created so much pain in you where.

I don't deny PTI lovers started campain against AH in London after killing of its senior vice president and rant by AH against liberating Karachi from Pakistan. But above case is different.

I was talking about IK's case against AH many years ago, what had happened to that case? If IK is in London it is high time to contact Scotland Yard and revive his case. What did I say wrong here?

Its best to read followups of every accusation that you fling against anyone. Imran presented charges against Altaf Hussain to Scotland Yard years ago. The case was readied and followed up. The only hiccup was that the witnesses that they needed were in Pakistan, and the PPP govt was in bed with MQM, so they were not going to hand over those witnesses.

Even now Scotland yard needs access to witnesses in Pakistan, and is dependent on Pak govt on handing them over for interrogations. But the fact that this case even got to this point has solely been because of PTI.

Its best to read followups of every accusation that you fling against anyone. Imran presented charges against Altaf Hussain to Scotland Yard years ago. The case was readied and followed up. The only hiccup was that the witnesses that they needed were in Pakistan, and the PPP govt was in bed with MQM, so they were not going to hand over those witnesses.

Even now Scotland yard needs access to witnesses in Pakistan, and is dependent on Pak govt on handing them over for interrogations. But the fact that this case even got to this point has solely been because of PTI.

Errr what?

The fact that noise made by PTIans has achieved a historic breakthrough i.e putting pressure on Met police and the authorities and that's all they needed and could hope for. They made a point, conveyed a message and raised awareness. They single handily turned the whole case into a popular mainstream issue that could not be ignored. So job well done for them.

Instead wasting your energies painting ZM as a saint sorry as a shair, you are better off acknowledging and appreciating all sorts of different factors that caused this domino effect.
