The karachiites might be brain dead, but why this democracy drama by the army? Why did the army give these wretched people so much authority and respect. If the army also has to depend on such scums, than it is doing no service to the nation. In fact, it is doing exactly what our enemies want - malign the army of Pakistan and give power to those who are thieves.

It's very rare to come across someone supporting Altaf Bhai the despicable. Yet MQM walks away with mouthwatering number of seats in elections. If MQM uses violent tactics to manoeuvre voters in its favour, then it is also poll rigging and should be dealt with accordingly.
The only way to end MQM is convince Mohajirs that they are not Mohajirs. No such thing exists anymore.

Seems like you have no clue about history. bengalis had more political awareness than any other muslim community at partition and since they were in majority they had the legal and moral right to rule. Why would they be learning punjabi beats me, actually to this day punjabi is not the officuial language of even punjab. The idea of screening millions of people migrating to pakistan from India is naive and impracticle, these were the very people at the forefront of Pakistan movement. Actually some biased bearocrates did suggest to curtail this migration in 1950 to which the response from Mr abbasi the rehabitilation commisioner was

Pakistan's creation divided up the Muslims and reduced their power and there are today more Muslims in India than in Pakistan.
what is the use of crying over split milk now? Why didn't it occur to you then that the 'strength' of Indian Muslims would be divided when you were striving for the creation of Pakistan. Were you not aware of the fact that Pakistan was to be created out of the north-western provinces of British India and the bulk of the IMs would be left behind in India because it was obvious that the new state would never accept all of them? As you people never miss an opportunity to remind us that the mohjirs were the vanguard of Pakistan movement and the credit of its creation goes solely to them, shouldn't you alone be hold responsible for the division of Indian Muslims.
*Punjab initially never supported the creation of Pakistan due to the influence of the feudal class and the Unionist party. It was only after the feudals realized how much power they could yield in this new country did they begin to support Pakistan.
Similar situation in Sindh, where the Sindhi feudals led by GM Syed started supporting Pakistan movement after they realized they could throw out the Sindhi Hindus, most of whom were the money lenders these feudals owed large sums of money too.*
Punjabi chodhries and Sindhi waderas did whatever they considered good for their provinces or for their own politics. Why should have they immediately climbed on the bandwagon of Pakistan lovers just becasue some strange folks living hundreds or thousands of kms away found it impossible to live alongside Hindus in harmony?
Bengalis and Indian Muslims were the most supportive for the Pakistan movement from the beginning and they both got the worst deal when it was realized that the true meaning of what Pakistan was to be and Jinnah's vision was never followed through. Pakistan was occupied by the feudals and army generals who saw the country as their fiefdom.
Don't forget your leaders are in bed with these army generals...you can't have your cake and eat it too, at one side you condemn the army generals for interfering in the politics and at the same time you support your leaders for working hand in glove with the army generals...
The same plan was initiated to stop Mohajirs from gaining back their stolen rights but this too failed after thousands of Mohajris were massacred by the establishment forces.
What were their stolen rights? would you please care to enlighten us? Killing sindhis, hating punjabis, fighting pathans, are these your stolen right? You couldn't live with HIndus now you cannot live alongside Sindhis and Punjabis...
The same establishment that killed 3 million Bengalis, gave the world the Taliban and spread nuclear weapons to other repressive states like North Korea.
NOt only the Taleban but also other demagogues like Altaf and his terrorist party MQM.
It could be somehow justified if Balochs or Sindhis harbours resentment toward Pakistan, Balochs are being killed and Sindhis have been marginalized in their own province, but Mohajirs have been the biggest profiteer of the partition and mostly at the expense of other ethnicities...

Muhajirs are an integral part of Pakistan's structure. Until recently, mohajirs have always been the most educated of our population. They were the ones initially supposed to be in charge of admistration of the country. Instead they got the shaft and fell prey to the quota system and a phenomena called punjab politics.
Hence started the MQM to help regain the mohajirs' rights. Unfortunately far from achieving that goal, Altaf Hussain has hijacked the MQM for his personal goals and gives a bad name to regular everyday muhajirs.
Sadly most muhajirs (even those who dont share Altaf's agenda) still blindly follow MQM because its the only party they can relate to.

I am from an immigrant family who lives in Karachi and I consider myself 100% urdu speaking.
Why can't I be just an Urdu Speaking Pakistani?
Why must I carry the mohajir label. Honestly I don't care that the GOVT. quota system does not give urban domicile holders the same right for jobs or not, I personally feel like a 2nd or 3rd rate citizen of Pakistan when I refer to myself as mohajir. I am a Pakistani **born in Karachi to Urdu Speaking parents.
When will we get out of this **stigma?
