http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/07/20/nasrallah.interview/index.html
(CNN) – Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah apologized for an attack that killed two Israeli Arab children in northern Israel, saying the youngsters were “martyrs for Palestine.”
Re: ~! Difference between the two groups fighting
You must have misread the article. Nasrallah apologized for the deaths of two *Arab Israeli *children hit during his random bombardment of Israeli cities. Nasrallah did not apologize for the other civilian casualties.
Remember Israel has a large Arab Muslim population (who have rights in Israel beyond the rights they would have in any Arab country), who are targets also of Hizbullah bombardments.
Re: ~! Difference between the two groups fighting
^ Arabs, are jews, muslims and christians. Its a common fact.
Yes they are Martyrs if they died, its called collateral damage, they're attacks are not targetting civilians, they're actually fighting properly. not cowardly.
They don't carpet bomb, and HOPE to kill the enemy.
May Allah give them success, and grant those who died jannah.

Re: ~! Difference between the two groups fighting
^ whats this win win ?
No one wins until, civilians on both sides stop dying.

Let's be very specific about fighting *properly. *The rockets launched by Hizbullah, and Hamas for that matter are in violation of every law of war ever created. The rockets are completely unguided, and have virtually no chance of destroying a legitimate military target. They are being used as terror weapons, whose sole purpose is to create fear among civilians.
The laws of war explicitly prohibit this. Collateral damage on the other hand is when you aim at, and possibly hit a legitimate target, and something or someone is killed or injured in the process. There is a big difference.
The first reason for the existence of the Geneva Conventions is the protection of innocents, even though wars are inevitable.
Re: ~! Difference between the two groups fighting
OG,
Was the massacre in Qana protected by International Law?
Re: ~! Difference between the two groups fighting
As I remeber Qana, a hundred people died taking refuge at a UN outpost that was mistakenly shelled by the Israelis.
International Law is silent on *mistakes. *Mistakes happen during war, they are inevitable. I do not ever remember any accusation that there was an intentional attack on civilians.
Yet, every day for the past 10 days Hizbullah has launched hundreds of attacks on civilians, each one could be worse than Qana. You decide.
Re: ~! Difference between the two groups fighting
why is it that when ever Israel kills people it is always a mistake, when Palestinians kill any Israel it is always terrorism. Excuses, Excuses. What length people will go to justify and cover up crimes of the ones they like. I suppose the 375 people killed in lebanon in the last few days is also a mistake. The IDF terrorists thought they were Hezbollah, even the5 year old kids. The world just doesnt understand.
Re: ~! Difference between the two groups fighting
How come every bomb that drops anywhere killing hundreds, has Hizbullah fighters there...
Schools, hospitals, houses, high rise everywhere there are Hizbullah...Yet, the only people in Israel are civilians...
It's a shift in blame and a lie...Every person above the age of 18 in Israel is not a civilian...He is an IDF soldier or was...Men and women both...
I was listening to Gillerman on TV and they justify bombings of home by touting that Hizbullah are hiding stockpiles of ammunition there and fire from those houses...Can anyone tell me if a house would be big enough to hold a Katyusha rocket launcher? I can imagine a mansion being big enough, but small houses?
What a cover they throw upon their crimes with fantastic glee and confidence...How easily and offhandedly they wash the blood of innocents with deceit...How easily they can kill from afar children who have yet to even form an opinion of religion are targetted and killed...
Mind you, these are not mistakes...These are deliberate and well aimed precise weapons targetting children...
Who can justify a murder better than a murderer himself...Who can make excuses for their crimes better than the criminal himself...
Daily they throw sand in our faces and expect us to believe it...
In the whole time this war has been taking place, how many representatives of Hizbullah have you seen on TV who can justify their side of the story? None...
It is easier to burn a heretic at the stake rather than hear the words of someone with a different belief...
It is easier to kill a terrorist than to hear him say why he fights...Why he is willing to put his life on the line...
And we never ask...And those who do ask and question are sidelined in the quagmire of lies and deceit as either traitors, terrorist sympathizers or just plain terrorists themselves...
So let us listen to lies and believe them...Let us see innocents die for freedom, liberty and justice...Let us be calm knowing that when a city is flattened and its inhabitants burned alive that it's for a good cause...Let us turn our faces away from those labelled as terrorists because terrorists terrorize for no reason except that they are mad, hatefilled and jealous...
Let us all swallow the sweet pill of lies, close our eyes and rest in the calm slumber of ignorance...The buttons are being pressed and missiles are being launched and someone, somewhere will die for something...
Who cares...It's all for a good reason...I know because I have been told...
Re: ~! Difference between the two groups fighting
Ohio guy, even the common folk can see, the difference. Its ok , save yourself some time, and don't type up ridiculous stuff. May I suggest you join the IDF?

hundreds of attacks launched; each one 'could' be worse then Qana;
which one was? did hundreds of the attacks kill a hundred people like the mistake in Qana?
or the mistake that has already killed approx 350-400 in Lebenon in the past 10 days?
No law protecting them!?
sad
decide!?

For that you need a conscience…
The American public’s conscience has been copyrighted by CNN and Fox…They will decide what is right and wrong for Americans…
Re: ~! Difference between the two groups fighting
God bless those, who fight the oppression, the evil the cruelty in the world. And those who are trying to establish peace.
And may the wrath of Allah touch, just touch the oppressors. Ameen.
Re: ~! Difference between the two groups fighting
The Lebanese people don't believe it was a mistake. Only people in the west do.
Re: ~! Difference between the two groups fighting
The difference between the two sides is that while Israel obviously has a long term plan, I don't see any sense in Hezbollah's actions. All I hear people saying is; "I hope Inshallah Israel is driven out, that the enemy is defeated." What then? What comes after that for Hezbollah? It seems like a lose lose situation to me. If Israel is driven out, there will be international forces inside Lebanon because nearly everyone agrees that Hezbollah ought to be disarmed, if for no other reason than to allow the legitimiately elected government to rule. The US will try its best to drive a wedge between Syria and Iran and will probably succeed because of pressure from Egypt, Jordan, and KSA.
If Hezbollah loses, which is most likely, then something similar will still happen. So what is Nasrallah trying to achieve? It not only started this conflict (and unfortunately misaculated what Israel would do) but it is prolonging it. I think a quarter to half a million are displaced, hundreds are dead, pockets of the country are destroyed, where is the end? If Nasrallah wants power and to really "win" I think it should concede defeat right now. I can't imagine Iran putting up the money to fix Lebanon's infrastructure and I don't think Hezbollah has those resources. If support for Hezbollah is high now, what will it be like when everything is "over"? Hezbollah ought to wave the white flag and work on gaining power legitimately. When are elections in Lebanon anyway?
