okay Its time I come clean. I drink and enjoy sharab, its something I got used to from an early age, my parents liked sharab, and even my older sister. my wife drinks sharab as well. I really dont see what is the big deal about it. It is available freely, and no one stops you from buying it, I actually am sipping on some right now as I type. I dont know of a single person in my family who does not like it and does not drink sharab. I have one cousin in pakistan who does not drink sharab but she thinks it is going to get her fat due to high calrories so her reasosn are very different.

So all of you guys can come with your holier than thou approaches as if you have never done anything wrong or questionable.

I love sharab tuffah and sharab burtaqaal.

in arabic sharab means drink, sharab tuffah means aple drink and sharab buruqal meins orange drink :)

essentially the words sharbat or mashroob come from the word sharab. if u pick up pretty much any juice container in an arabic peaking country, it would say sharab on it.

personally I dont agree with any of these posts being moved, but I have never used my roohani powers to influence mods from doing what they think is right. I am not going to second gues sher judgement, if u want my post moved, by all means tell her, I will not be offended.

As I noted an entire thread about gamma's phone call with yours truly was trashed earlier :)

i heard from devbandi alam ke orignal sharaab is derived from grapes and dates and these two are haraam rest ALLAH knows better.

nope asir is juice, sharab is used for juice as well as drink i.e. orange juice may be asir burtuqal but orange drink like err tang may be sharab.

my dad played a joke on my dadi in KSA when he brought a bottle of apple juice that said sharab tuffah on it, had her drink some juoce and then told her that he had just given her sharab and showed her the botle which said sharab on it, she went ballistic until he explained it was a practical joke

You are reading more into it than is there, maybe because you are drunk as you are posting If you want to take my goofing around as some sort of dodging the issue, then let me get serious for a second here. I joke around about charas, and cociane also, but thats all that it is. I jok aroud to keep the mood light and to try to reach people wthout being too judgemental or making them get defensive..

Do you need others to admit to drinking for you to justify your drinking? As I said, its your business, you can drink all you want, I consider you a freind and that is why I said that I do not believe it is right, but that its your choice. I am sorry I can not support you in something I believe to be wrong. I am also sorry if that does not get you the type of support you thought you could get in justifying choices that you have made and those that you are living with.

I dont drink, I dont allow anyone to bring alcohol in my house, I dont think drinking alcohol is right. I did make some mistakes but it was over a decade ago. I learnt, I grew up and I made a choice to never touch the stuff.

As a friend, I hope that one day you get away from this stuff as well. You will be better off.
