Tell me stories, your worst opinion/story about a person who had a few too many, and what you love about a person who drinks in “moderation” that is if you consider a person can do that???

Re: Alcohol
yeah one of my distant relatives in Pakistan was a chain smoker and a heavy drinker. He was found burnt to death one night. Apparently he got too drunk and was smoking like a chimney and caught fire.

Re: Alcohol
I grew up a desi in the US and my exposure to alcohol was always that its a thing for grown ups. The grown ups would have one or two in a social setting, have a nice time and go home.
WHen I went to Pakistan, it was very different. There were so many countless positive experiences there that I'd like to live there. But one thing - the alcohol at the parties. The men are forbidden alcohol and when they go to a party and its there, well they just drink till they either pass out or puke their guts out.
If you;re asking whether people can drink in moderation, the answer is yes, my mom and dad did this often. THey;d have a cocktail after a long day or a glass of wine with dinner. There was never ever anything "base" or shameful about it.
I do realize that Islaam condemns alcohol completely; I do not proffess to be a Muslim, at least not yet. And I see the bad side of it as well as the social and not-harmful side.
Re: Alcohol

Re: Alcohol
:k:
ppl, specially muslim then argue that by drinkin if they r not harming or hurtin anyone then it is O.K to drink. Its amazing how just to justify their own need, they give a twist to wat is allowed n prohibited
Re: Alcohol
Puke!! Puke!!!
Re: Alcohol
I was just joking, but in Pakistan people do tend to drink and go overboard, I think the primary reason for that is that “alcohol” is forbidden. I think if Pakistanis are given the choice, over time they will become responsible?
Re: Alcohol
yeah its ok to disobey Allah & His Messenger (S.A.W) as long as you are not harming/hurting any1.
Re: Alcohol
My dear friend
That’s a very strong statement, please give quotations out of Quran that say that Alcohol is “Haram” , Yes its been mentioned that “Alcohol” is “Manna”, (urdu translation, for your own good) but in my honest opinion its never mentioned that its “Haram” (don’t quote me tashree just turjama)
PS: all italics are in urdu.
Re: Alcohol
No No, You dont have to put it that way..:)..I dont take a bribe , nor do I hurt any other human being, but in the confines of my home if I drink , i think its OK.
Re: Alcohol

Re: Alcohol
Have you ever had a key lime pie martini? It is like a dessert in a glass.
I drink in moderation. Nothing to be ashamed of (but then I do live in the evil empire of the United States grrrrr). I'm actually quite proud of myself- I'm very responsible and know my limits. That's not to say I haven't had my share of "drunken moments" (particularly when I first started to drink)- but nothing I can't laugh about now. You live and you learn, I guess (and then, hopefully, you laugh).
