Well he better have an explanation but I cannot see any forthcoming.
If he did what we all thought he was trying to do (which we can be sure will be investigated), he deserves a heavy punishment!!! and yes, I wouldnt like him to captain too. As much as his brilliance on the field and aggression, such lapses and acts do not deserve captaincy.
Mr. Afridi better come up with some explanation otherwise I see minimum of 3 match ban. Then again why would you do anything with the ball when there are 27 cameras watching you????
Yousuf should stay as captain since Afridi has a history of cheating. First he tried to screw with the pitch in pakistan against England and now biting the ball and expecting no one to see him. He should be banned for a long time! 6 months or so!
When I think they cant go any lower, they surprise me. This was just mind boggling madness. This guy whos played more than 300 games... whats he thinking when hes doing this? its beyond comprehension.
I'm sorry. You are representing your country.
You guys are debating if he should be captain. I would not play this guy ever again. Try and be your best, work hard. If you cant beat someone fair and square, try harder.
You wont even do this is a street cricket match and this guy does it in front of the whole world while wearing his national colors, representing his country. Sorry mate, you're not worthy of being an international sportsman. If I could, I'd lash his arse a 100 times in public and then ban him for life. Shame on you.

couldn't have said it better myself! I am so pissed off at Afridi right now!
honeslty i will take yusuf, butt, kamran, etc whoever as a captain as long as they are honest and play with their full heart rather than a cheat like afridi ...
i couldnt believe wot i was seeing on the TV .... he not once but twice bit it and second time u could clearly him trying to bite off the seem Allah toba kia banay ga is team kaa..
i want him out for atleast a year and he thought that by cheaitng he would win the game and win the hearts of the managment and ppl and become the captain come onnnnnnnnnnn
and surprisingly he said at the toss that yusuf is injured lol and then yusuf goes at the end that he was just resting that shows how united our team is..........
such acts have been part of all sports and resulting bans.. but dat dsnt mean that the person is unfair.. its just an instance when our emotions guide us doing such thing..
for eg. Zidane was ace player France playing in the world cup final.. hitting a player with his head straight into his chest.. he was banned.. but again he is playing..
Madonna.. treated as God by Argentina for his efforts.. revealing of his use of drugs hasnt brought disgrace for him in the country..
it is we, Pakistanis, who create issue out of nothing..
i admit he made a damn mad mistake.. but he was never doing it for himself..
kher.. all u ppl have ur own opinions.. i have shared just mine..
Dont know how closely you were watching the game but even Afridi looked sheepish as if someone caught him red handed when umpires took the ball, looked at it and then called Afridi.
I was up all night to watch this dead rubber just because I realized it was not a meaningless game once I saw Afridi standing with Ponting at the toss. I thought this could be the moment when things will begin to change for Pakistan.
As soon as I saw Afridi doing something with the ball during the over break I knew it wasn’t looking right.
I don’t know if he was intentionally/unintentionally tampering with the ball and don’t know what punishment (if any) he will get. All I knew is I lost interest in the game once I saw the incident again and again on live TV.

i have been following the matches since day one.. :)
secondly its the habit of those WHITE CHAMRI of highlighting mistakes made by others.. esp Asian countries.. n on such occasion we shd be backing our player accepting the punishment..
secondly i was waiting n waiting dat the replay of last run which was called NO BALL.. jab k i tht it wasnt.. n was called NO BALL by aussie umpire standing on leg side.. did u notice dat the commentator tht k no ball nahi thee.. n the replay wasnt repeated..
kher.. its up to U bro.. u are carried away with their typical attitude :)
