I shudder to think what would have gone through the minds of little kids who passionately love to watch and enjoy each and every moment in the cricket field. I quiver at the thought of our sisters who had to morally go through such pain and agony just to see a glimpse of victory of their beloved team. I tremble over the perception respectable families have gotten of our nation's most precious and darling cricketers, when they had to witness this garbage over their television screens. Last but not least, I vibrate at the reflection these kids provided when their own mothers and sisters sat in front of the screen and saw their own generation, their own progeny, the bread-maker, the man of their house, blatantly and shamelessly abusing another Muslim down to its dirty hands and knees. What would the families of such 'paid professionals' have thought at that period in time?

Rahul, muslims as a whole are part of a bigger global community (supposed to be anyway). There is much emphasis on brotherhood and looking out for each other regardless of their nationality, race etc. These are the teachings we have so conveniently chosen to forget.
Anyway dhobi's point was, theyre swearing at another muslim so thats doubly worse than swearing at a non-muslim, because the muslim they're swearing at is their brother. Makes sense? Sorta?
Muslim swearing at non-muslim: Bad bad bad.
Muslim swearing at muslim: Bad bad bad + bonus bad points.

Except Harbajhan. Get a copy of Pak vs India @ Bangalore last year. Test 3 Day 2. Younis Khan finally gets out at 267 something to Harbajhan Singh. The words that came out of Harbajhan's mouth, you wouldnt want your mothers and sisters to listen.

Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis all use to swear. Imran with his Oxford education did it, so the excuse of "uneducated" can be thrown out of the window. People from other countries do it as well, it's been part of the game for a long time and it will always be there unless we are playing a team of saints. I remember Wasim Akram playing against India on his 31'st birthday was having a hard time to get off the mark. After facing like his 4th or 5th dot ball the non strike (Yousaf) asked him something and Akram replied
"Phen**** gaind hi nazar nai aa riya"
Ramiz was the commentator and he was like "He said he cant see the ball, I wouldnt like to repeate the rest of it" :)

LM bhai I am sure all the serious ccricket fans know very well what you mentioned in your post, including those who have problems with this kind of players attitute on the field. But people are overreacting mainly because it was Pakistan versus India series and India lost it.
I am sure a similar incidence involving Afridi, Akhrar and Australian players would have been taken in a totally diferent manner, and people would not have created a havoc here.
Zillions of time Australians and other players have done that and they get away with it. All those poeple here who thinks their lives have been disturbed and shattered after what Shoaib said to Pathan should also consider that, if they have seen enough cricket.

I would break their noses and hand them in their hands if they become so 'personal' with me. Like I would if I was playing that test match when R.P Singh on his debut match started all this 'Gaalian' IF YOU HAVE SHORT MEMORY of these events than your comments ^ are wasted and not my problem.
Dhoni & Pathan started all this and could not handle the taste of their own medicine.
Any Tom, Dick and Harry who starts name calling to any Pak team member without pretext should think twice.

I completely agree with your comment about something getting so personal, on the other hand I have never ever condoned Indians using that kind of language, its not the Nationality thats the issue its the language.
Sledging is ok abusing mothers and sisters and someones rear end is NOT OK

So far Azkar & Ehsan bhai have kept a tight leash on posters and I always appreciated the fact. Now its time to come down hard on some posters who would start name calling as freely as drinving on a freeway (Smooth_guy) I don’t care what his background is or where was he bitten, NOBODY calls Shoaib Akhter or Shahid Afridi “chamaars” over some thing which is already questionable, I’m serious and would not tolerate this behaviour from any Guppy whether its for an Indian player or the Pakistani player.

anyone who uses such language is setting a rotten example for their fans. between the pitch dance and this cussing episode afridi has lost all respect. these guys are just showing what low class they are. unfortunately it is not limited to these two or this team. it has become a fashionable way of showing 'passion'. the gora teams are no exception
