Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan’s options

Thanks to Afghan’s continuous fighting, we have to enjoy the peace zone :chai:

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

In the case of Afghanistan the economic free zone means sell drugs via Iran.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan’s options

What continuous fighting? Pakistanis are fighting amongst themselves on different reasons i.e active baloch insurgency, karachi ethnic fighting, TTP, Panchayat cases in punjab, shia vs sunni. TTP has the same ideology as Al-Qaeda and they are in revenge mode.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

You have listed pretty much everything some of our so-called friends are sponsoring, including you.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

and yet, 3 million Afghan refugees feel more comfortable in Pakistan.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

The fact is that Pakistan has never produced a proof of its so called enemies that they are actively arming various groups to destabilise Pakistan What did pakistan gain from destabilising Afghanistan? Nothing.
Now, if you are thinking that Afghanistan is destabilising Pakistan. What will they gain, again nothing.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

Pakistanis workers are working in a insecure Afghanistan to earn some money for their families, nothing wrong with that.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

I think everyone on this forum agrees that sponsoring Taliban after Russian invasion was a terrible thing to do by Pakistan. Everyone agrees that we should keep distance from Afghan internal matters. Everyone agrees that it has only been pain and no gain from this strategy.

The only point of difference between you and others is that you are portraying that there is a massive bloodbath going on everywhere and everyday in Pakistan while people enjoy rivers of milk flowing freely in Afghanistan. That's exaggeration to say the least.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

I believe that it was a blunder of Pakistan to get involved in Afghanistan post 79, we have only suffered due to our policies. Let Afghans deal with the mess on their side, we should focus on our side of the border. That was exactly the point I wanted to hammer by initiating this thread.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

How about those innocent people that are killed by Pakistan policies. They had families and children what about them. Their fathers, mothers, brothers etc had dreams for their loved ones, but a alcoholic general from pak army comes with a killer idea of strategic depth that brings even more death to pakhtoon land.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

I have never said that there is milk flowing in Afghanistan. In no country of the world is that the case not even USA. Pakistan is sinking and its enemies will not hesitate in speeding up the process and who is to blame, ISI and Army.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

Do you also include Afghanistan in the list of those 'enemies'.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

killings were going on before pakistan got involved, but its never too late to recognize one's mistake. Afghanistan is incorrigible, who ever puts its hand in to douse the flame gets burnt himself. I am sure the policy makers of Pakistan have learnt from their experience.

Previously warlords were killing people and now Taliban, at the end of the day Pashtuns are killing Pashtuns.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

No, but they do not recognise the durand line for which they have their own reasons.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

In 1948 Pakistan started the killings of baloch, then it started the killing of paskhtoons, in 1971 it started the killing of Bengalies, in 2004 till now it is killing both pakhtoons and balochs. In all this, Did Afghanistan involved itself?

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

India has been actively trying to secure a toehold in Afghanistan to become a headache for China and Pakistan. And no one would be more happy to see Pakistan dislodged from Afghanistan. While we do not condone what Pakistan did in Afghanistan due on whatever pretext, it is also a fact that India is also indirectly responsible for the bloodbath in Afghanistan. And what New Delhi is doing and hoping for now?

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

Afghanistan is not the play ground of India and Pakistan (both were enslaved by brits for 200 years), so both should back off with their filthy games. India has contributed hugely in the last decade in the reconstruction of Afghanistan and Afghans see India as a friendly country. New Delhi is hoping for an Afghanistan not dominated by Taliban. What is Pakistan hoping for?

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

Afghanistan involved itself as early as 1948, promoting and supporting Pushtonistan movements in Pakistani territories. Afghanistan never accepted the borders between the two countries which had been in place 50 years before Pakistan was even created. Later years, the people there were too involved fighting among themselves or growing opium to really care for what is going on around them.

I understand your ideas and more or less agree with them. But please don't twist history so much.

Relations between Afg and Pak should be based on mutual respect. Only peace can ensure sustainable developments both sides of the border.

Re: Afghan civil war - Pakistan's options

Afghanistan offered itself to be playground for Russia, then US and then rest of the world jumped in, don't be whining.

Were you born yesterday? I don't like kids who want to hold my finger and then start talking bigger than me.
