Let me answer all the follow-up questions, as they may shed more light on this situation:

1. No he never met her - all of this is over the phone. She wants to meet him, and is calling him at home and on his cell frequently.

2. What does she want? A fling with him, a chance encounter, she seems to be intrigued by going after him. But honestly, I don’t know this for sure. I only have one side of the story.

3. My friend is overwhelmed by feeling that he’s betrayed his fiancee. He says he didn’t do anything, but this situation in of itself is such a wrong thing to happen, days before one’s own marriage day! He wants this to end, but thinks the travel agent will continue to play games even after the marriage.

Okay here is a story that happened with me not too long ago. I wanted to book a flight back to Pakistan and was talking to a couple of travel agents. One was the extra cordial one. Ofcourse he knew it was a flight back to pakistan and he started talking in Urdu..which I didnt have a problem speaking with him. The next couple of times He tried talking to me in Punjabi (as he knew I wanted a flight to Lahore). I completely ignored time and again and instead of Urdu syrted with the formal English again. The thing with travel agents is that they call a lot and email.I was looking for flights in the immediate week or so.Anyway one time I got an early morning call like 6am on my cell, so I called back.Weird was the fact it was his wife who picked up the phone and I told her I had recieved a call.
Anyway within couple of days he told me on one occasion about some transit times and he went like “tum akailli bachoin ke sath kaise karo gi”…I was like where did that weird non proffessional language come from.After that I let my husband handle everything…really not worth talking to Desi Travel agents(okay here I am generalizing I know:smack:

I think it's part of their job (to be frank). I've spoken to female agents before and they have also been extra nice to me until I bought the ticket. Then you can't find them. I don't read/hear too much into it.

This was before I got married. I was trying to find a frank female agent because I was living alone and still had a few days between the ticket issuance date and my travel date. I needed some fraandsheep to spend my alone time. But agent dhokey baaz nikli. She used to call me "sohail jee" and speak in Urdu, but after the sale, she stopped answering my phone to answer my questions. :(

haan ji, kara li bayizzati apni, khush ho gaye, issi liye kehtay hain har airay ghairay say mazzaq na kiya karro.

yaar Saarim sahab. there is more to it then meets the eye, no girl can flirt with anyone nonstop if that person puts a stop to it, the deal wioth she has his credit card info, phone number and home address is lame as shikra has pointed out. what can she do to his cell phone number??? call him?
he can ask her not to call him and after he has booked teh trip, just not answer her call, worse case scenario is he can tell his cell phone company to block her, change his number, get a restraining order.

X2, I am with you 1000%! There is more to this story then meets the eye.

If they have only spoken on the phone, there is no way it could have gotten this far. He cant be feeling guilty over phone conversations…right? What I mean is even I smile at the clerks in department stores…do I feel guilty about it? Absolutely not.

Saarim, you need to give us more information to give you a better answer/advice. Talk to your friend and see if the situation is more serious than it seems. I think it might be. In fact, Im convinced. I do not believe he has told you everything. There could be reasons for that too. He might be fighting an internal battle as to whether he should bury this forever or get it out in the open.

AND I raise my question again, what about the poor girl who was NOT misbehaving like Saarim’s friend? What about her feelings and her right to know if the man she is marrying is loyal and will be there with her forever? This is her entire life at stake and she hasn’t even done anything. I mean, she cant feel threatened everytime they go on vacation because he has a weakness for travel agents!

(BTW I havent met any cute desi travel agents, mine is an old desi uncle )

People think about it. Wouldnt YOU want to know if your fiancee was flirting and ogling someone else?

Saarim ji, this is indeed an iteresting story and more interesting is the lady who is going all ga ga goo goo over this fella she's never met. My seventh sense tells me that your friend's fiancee paid her to "test" him...after all the travel agent is the fiancee's friend's referal right? What do you say?
