Driven both. They are both good cars. It comes down to personal preference really.
Acura's gives you "better value" though (meaning maintenance, parts, gas etc will be cheaper on it). Resale is better as well
If you get snow in your area than this is a no brainer. You don't have a choice, you HAVE TO get TL
G35 even with snow tires is pretty hard to control (G35x is beast of its own - not considering that)
if u get snow fwd handle better than rwd
but driving experience overall favours rwd
acuras are good. i have heard their upkeep is pricier.
Not in my experience... relative to similar cars in the specific categories, maintenance is pretty cheap. I remember when I had mine... I never felt the stinge getting everything done at the dealership, whereas even with a Camry that I had earlier, this wasn't the case.
so then.... acura is cheaper maintenance wise? because that is definitely my biggest concern. i dont want to be spending a fortune if something goes wrong.
^ shay - I can't comment on a comparison between Acura TL and Infiniti G35... but between a TL and a Camry... or... a TL and a Maxima... I'd say TL is economical to maintain from what I've seen.
Shay, are you looking new or old? Also, there should be some huge undisclosed discounts coming for the current Maxima(moreso) and G35. Get a price quote for free and ask your local dealers if they have any cash/leasing deals. It’ll take a minute to get the quote but you’ll know what dealers are asking for in your area. It’s a good starting point come negotiation time.
We’ve all agreed that both cars are equally reliable, all it comes down to then is personal taste. I’m personally a torque guy and the Nissan/Infiniti have more torque. The Acura might have more hp but it doesnt translate into enough umph. The TL feels underpowered compared to a Maxima.
Thanks HSK! Will definitely do that. The problem is that my fiance (hubby to be in a month) hates how the Infiniti looks and even though we both adore the Coupe, I need a spacious car since I tend to get claustorphobic very easily. I'll go and test drive both and let ya all know which one worked out best :)
If you are purchasing them brand new then you shouldnt be worried about maint. Infiniti comes with a 4yr/60k warranty and I believe Acura has a 4yr/50k warranty. So you can check those off the list :)
Fuel Economy - They are both 6cyl around the same spec engines, you will get around the same mileage. If fuel economy that huge of a concern - step down to a 4cyl - Acura TSX is the best bargain in the 4cyl category - nice car, great design, great fuel economy and still luxury.
It all comes down to what YOU prefer and can afford. You cannot go wrong with EITHER and yes this is coming from a guy who ONLY drives Nissan/Infiniti lol
max4speed mon ami, I have been in the market looking to buy one of em 70s 240Zs, hard to find a good one, dont have enough skills or time to get one that needs serious rebuilding, but I am going to get one of em rides some day.
Than a Maxima. But barely and a Maxima is still sexier :-).
Its not always about HP. TL might be a lil more on HP but VQ motors are Torquey.. I always felt that honda motors are high revving whinny bishes :) VQ is smooth and powerful.

Yup, I said that above. Some people would much rather have a high hp number but I'd rather have torque. TL feels underpowered compared to a Maxima... even more so compared to a G35.
