HSK, I just checked Edmunds.com to reconfirm my recollection on this topic. Maxima, while a pretty nice car, is not the same value for money it onec was. First, with Altima’s fantastic engine options and styling, its probably Maxima’s biggest competition. Second, a decently equipped Maxima is pushing $35k (US dollars, not Canadian), and at that price point, there are many other, probably better, luxury/sporty alternatives available.
Maxima will probably be fully redesigned in a year, and at that time, it may regain its appeal. Right now, its just over-priced and not quite there yet.
Or you can go with this beauty for $35k, which has a 368 hp (324 lb-ft) V8 that will take you from 0 to 60 in under 6 secs.
Unless you give a real reason I'm going to have to assume you're joking. The only worthwhile product that Acura has made is the MDX, and even then they're having problems getting rid of them.
i have worked on bmw's so have had an opportunity to drive almost all the models..including 5/7series and X5.** i think the basic idea behind having the 'idrive' is so that the driver can easily and safely access the 'car options'. i agree its not that user friendly and something you have to get use to. it is believed that bmw copied that 'idea' from mercedes. the similar 'idrive' in mercdes is much more user friendly. **
it really comes down to what you like.
Yes, It is a bad copy of Merc Onboard Navi. I believe Its called 'Comand APS', produced by Becker.
And yes Merc has a much better onboard computer than the "idrive".
Its not going to work as people who would waana spend 35K would ruthar see Infiniti than Hyundai in their driveway…i am sure u remember what happened to Pheaton?
Phaeton was way too pricey for a VW - close to $70-80k. It was competing against Audi's A-8, and lost due to brand name.
Genesis is about $35-40k. Its a sweet spot, and if you get 300+ hp, 300+ torque, on a V8 with all the goodies, and a damn good exterior style to boot, it makes for a compelling argument. Not to mention that lately Hyundai is besting German and US brands in reliability ratings. Not many people have actually seen the car yet, so its premature, but if the interior fit and finish is really as good as Hyundai and early reviews claim, this car can potentially change the game. Of course, it will be hard to sway brand name concious buyers who want a kidney-shaped grill or a three-coned star on their car.
i agree that Hyundai is giving a lot of value for the price...but to me what will be hard is that it is not a Brand of people who can afford to go over 30K...it has made a name for it self for serving people who look for as complete car as they can for under 20K..and the reason it has been successful is it Did JUST THAT VERY WELL in last 6 years or so when they started out redesigning Sonata like Accord.
I just can not imagine that someone from Hyundai crowd is going to waana spend 35K and still not wanna go for BRAND name...
I think phaeton lost out to the BMW reshaping its 7 series.....pheaton was prices same as base 7 series and that just killed it for Pheaton in US market
It’s too premature to say it wont work. I have a strong feeling it will. They sold a bunch of gawd awful XG300s and I’m sure they’ll sell many more with the much much much better Genesis.
In a year or two count on Genesis being its own brand. It’ll be the Lexus or Infiniti for Hyundai. The Hyundai logo will be dropped once the North American audience gets familiar with the Genesis brand.
I thought the previous M did horrible business, and the new 'M' is actually selling pretty well. From an exterior styling stand point, its just a bulkier 'G'.
Nope, Corollas have too good gas millage...she is in CT, she is not worried about gas prices as they say Living in CT is cheap because you stay home a lot.:D
