Which one would you go for?
Re: Acura or Infiniti?
If I was retarted I'd go with Acura. Their cars are boring, underpowered, and overpriced Hondas.
The obvious answer is Infiniti or even Nissan. A new Maxima's better than anything from Acura.
Re: Acura or Infiniti?
Infiniti
Re: Acura or Infiniti?
What models? Depends on the models.
Re: Acura or Infiniti?
G35 all the way. It has a better exhaust system, a stronger engine, and for the price offers more reliability and luxury.
TL is known as TL in USA, in Japan and Europe they're called Honda Accord TypeR. So TL although looks nice and posh, is pretty much a tuned Honda Accord.

tri-cycle with little basket at the front for wifey. ![]()

You fail. The TSX is the JP/Euro Accord.
Ask ex-Fraudster about the G35. I think he's running a AWD G35.
Re: Acura or Infiniti?
Oh ur right. TSX it is.

And i think G35 has a bigger gas tank, hence will cost you a bit more to fill up. Consider and reconsider again all pros and cons from the mileage, to maintenance cost. Have you checked out the TSX too?

Re: Acura or Infiniti?
One of each.
Re: Acura or Infiniti?
Infinitis have to be the most user unfriendly cars around - really bad design features.
I test drove a couple of different models last year and was greatly unimpressed by them. I'd buy a fully loaded Maxima over an Infiniti any day!
As far as Acuras go, I've owned a 3.2CL which I sold last year... and I still miss it. It was one of a kind but then again, it's more in the sports coupe category - so I can't really compare it to the sedan versions.
Re: Acura or Infiniti?
TL has nothing on the G
drove them both liked them both
bro in law got a TL and anytime I have to drive it I am glad I got a G
I mean I like acuras. Begum drives an MDX but TL was not for me even though it was in the top 4-5 list
In the end its personal preference and which car you just work best with

Interesting. I have not driven one yet, but in the pictures, it appeared that the interiors are very upscale and suave. For my wife's next car, I was (still am) seriously considering the EX-35 by Infiniti. Of course, I won't buy one before test driving them.
However, I must caution that sometimes limited time behind the wheels does not give us an appropriate chance to evaluate the features of a car's advanced electronics. For example, pretty much all car reviewers pan BMW's iDrive. Some call it tumor, most call it non-user-friendly etc. Problem is that many of these people spend just a few minutes or a few hours with the car, and could not figure out iDrive and end up hating it. In my BMW X5, after getting over the initial learning curve, I now think that iDrive is one of the most sophisticated and user-friendly interface design to control so many advanced features of the car. It surely beats, hands down, having a gazillion buttons surrounding the navigation screen. Best part is, its placed just in front of the arm-rest, so I can control pretty much anything without reaching out for it. Its fabulous. But the only reason I know is because I own the car and drive it every day. I am pretty sure if I just test drove it and gave up on iDrive, I'd end up hating it too. This is one reason, BMW doesn't simply sell you a car. They make sure each new owner is given one hour of one-to-one demonstration of car's functionality. This helps new owners get comfortable with these kinds of advanced features. Modern cars, especially luxury cars, have come a long way in advanced electronics, and many things are no longer learnt just by intuition.
Re: Acura or Infiniti?
I would go for G35 over TSX. Acura TL or RL are very nice cars. I owned MDX but new 2008 MDX they have messed up with the shape, at least that's what I think.
I have driven Nissans in the past and they are really good cars.
I would say Acura and Infinity both have great cars. It's just matter of individual preference depending on the models.

All good points Faisal, but I wasn’t talking about the technical features in the car… I was just turned off by stuff that was even more basic at a functionality level
Here’s an example…
The seat adjustment controls in the Infiniti G35 are on the inside, i.e. on the right side for the driver and on the left side for the front passenger.
First, I find this design “innovation” totally unnecessary… why go against a widely accepted design standard ! What’s worse is that these controls are so darn close to the front cup holders that I was just dreading the situation if my coffee cup were to spill over and mess up the controls there. With the parking brake, the cup holders, the seat belt latch/buckle, and the seat controls, there’s just too much going on around that part of the interior.
This is just one of the two or three bad design examples that I thought of at the time of my test drive. I’m pretty good when it comes to learning and adapting to new technology features but this was something that in my opinion wasn’t done right at the functional level in the car’s interior design.
Re: Acura or Infiniti?
Well Faisal, I believe tastes differ. I had been driving 5 Series with idrive for 4 months and I must say I have been very disappointed.
It lacks usability and is rightly so considered as a tumour.
Eventhough I like the drive of 5 Series very much, but idrive just killed my love for this car.
I would never ever advice any one to have idriver. In my opinion Onboard computers need to be user friendly in first place and then lets talk about the sophisticated features of which I have not seen many implemented in idrive.
Why compare Acura with Infinity.
Infinity is no match for Acura.

LC- I thought the same as well, but I bought the car regardless of it. and to be honest now that I have had the car, I find it more user friendly than reaching to the left side on the side of the seat to adjust the seat.
as Faisal noted about the idrive in BMW, sometimes there are features that dont make sense to a casual user, but there is a rhyme and reason for it.
In the end, with its quirks and all it was still named motortrend car of the year in its debut year.
to me the combo of speed and handling makes it a nice thing to have when smokey is not around I want to punch it. its amazing how many people on the road underestimate what could be done to them with this car. :D
Re: Acura or Infiniti?
Driven both. They are both good cars. It comes down to personal preference really.
Acura's gives you "better value" though (meaning maintenance, parts, gas etc will be cheaper on it). Resale is better as well
If you get snow in your area than this is a no brainer. You don't have a choice, you HAVE TO get TL
G35 even with snow tires is pretty hard to control (G35x is beast of its own - not considering that)
Re: Acura or Infiniti?
i have worked on bmw's so have had an opportunity to drive almost all the models..including 5/7series and X5. i think the basic idea behind having the 'idrive' is so that the driver can easily and safely access the 'car options'. i agree its not that user friendly and something you have to get use to. it is believed that bmw copied that 'idea' from mercedes. the similar 'idrive' in mercdes is much more user friendly.
it really comes down to what you like.
Re: Acura or Infiniti?
Get the M3 :D
