^ that’s the funny thing…when I’m “trying”, the tthick accent doesn’t come out!! In my natural habitat, away from the pressure of sound recordings, when I’m not “thinking” about it, it is more pronounced I think :sid:

I normally have a mix between a brooklyn and a boston accent.

purple is called baiganii, kaasnii, ooda…in Urdu.
there is another ward for white in Urdu and it’s suped [sue pay d]…are you sure elders in ur family say suped and NOT sufeed as you pronounced in your audio clip? Mir Taqi Mir used this word in one of his ash’aar:
yaan k suped o siyeh meN ham ko jo daKhl hai so itnaa hai
raat ko ro ro subHo kiyaa, din ko juuN tuuN shaam kiyaa!
Mir, of course, was an authority in Urdu language! 
he is often known as ‘Khudaa-e-suKhan’

Nope, my Ammani (my Nana’s sister) would say “sufeeed” rang, really stretched out and exaggerated…we cousin’s have that as an inside joke

alright…then it’s a case of Hyderabadi twist to the word sufaid yeah, it sounds cute indeed!
my naanii used to say persian word in such a way that it sounded more like purabiyaa zabaan…like
tahaddar for some brand new clothes. the farsi phrase is…teh dar teh [fold in and fold out]
