Re: Aborting a baby
I know a couple that aborted their baby, because they just got married, spent one night together and he left for business the next day, and while he was away , the wife found out she was pregnant (after spending only 1 night together). She aborted the baby because she was embarrased by what ppl will say, "that she got pregnant after just 1 night" ... Allah (swt) never gave them a baby again.. they are about 60 now, and childless.
I'm not implying that Allah (swt) will do that in every case... just telling this story for everyone to be aware.. not to play with nature and Allah's will.
really eh...
so they were embarrassed that she became pregnant after one night together and decided to abort the baby. but they thought nothing of going around and telling everyone their story.
sounds very plausible.
Re: Aborting a baby
Actually my mum told me this, you know how Pakistani communities are.. she must've told someone in confidence, and that person told the next, and the next....
Just like this thread... the wife told the mother-in-law who told someone else, who told someone else etc etc
My mum told me this to scare me off taking the Pill after i got married. She didn't want me messing with nature. But this Aunty's story is true.
Re: Aborting a baby
I have a question. Would abortion be Islamically allowed if lets say during a routine ultrasound the doctor informs you that the fetus is not growing properly and has physical deformities. I heard of a couple whose baby did not have any limbs so they had an abortion. What would be appropriate in such a situation? I hope and pray that Allah never puts anyone through this tough decision though!
Re: Aborting a baby
I wonder why everyone is being so judgemental............whatever the couple did, its their decision & they are responsible for it
Its so annoying when random people poke their noses into someone's private life

Re: Aborting a baby
As long as we're on this topic..... does anyone have information on whether its permissible to abort a baby which may have a genetic disorder? In my personal opinion, you shouldn't abort but then I've never been in that situation so it must be tough to make that decision. What is the Islamic ruling on this, does anyone know?
One of my friend's sister had to abort her baby in 4th month. It was discovered in ultra sound that the growth of the baby was that of a 2 month old fetus and there were some other issues too. It was very difficult for her emotionally but she had to go for abortion. It was the 5th time she lost her pregnancy. Before that she has a couple of miscarriages.

Ask her to go to Imam or search internet for specific DUA's. She definitely has Jadoo done on her to stop kids. I am witness to 5 cases. 3 of them won't conceive (5-6 miscarriages, including my sister). 2 of them conceive but have dead babies. Doctors would say fibroids and other issues. Then they were taken to someone who gives recited water, dum and expert in spirit removal. All of them have healthy kids now. Believe me if you can!
Re: Aborting a baby
The situation that MiainVa described is sad and unwarranted.
But what about the other situation where the couple was close to divorce? If done before 4 months, is it really that evil a thing to do? I don't disagree with the reasoning the family used.
One of my friend who got divorced some 9 years back was pregnant at the time of divorce. She was told to abort the baby so that she cam remarry but she did not. Recently she got married again and have again been blessed with a beautiful and healthy baby.
People forget Allah before predicting the future and passing judgements.

Her husband is a very religious guy. To date he and his family that is the MIL has not said a word to that woman. They give her so much tasali and support her. I don't think they will accept jadoo as a the cause for lost pregnancies.

Her husband can ask any Islamic scholar. I can send you PDF book written by Saudi scholars and translated world over. It is a reality.
Re: Aborting a baby
This is horrible and sad!!! Why get pregnant in the first place if they didnt want a baby. Tell them about contraception please!

It is not about being judgmental , nobody knows the family who did this so their private life and privacy is protected .
People are giving their opinion as to why it was a right or wrong decision. Many of us might face the same dilemma and it would not hurt to make an educated decision based on discussion in this thread. This is the whole point of these kinds of forums and these discussions.
Re: Aborting a baby
^ exactly this didn't come from the people involved themselves, coming from a third person and based on hearsay, no its not an accurate account of the couple or circumstances involved. so any 'discussion' is useless since its based on conjecture. this is just passing judgment for the sake of passing judgment, topic can also be discussed without involving or pointing fingers at people involved.
Re: Aborting a baby
I started this topic as I was just feeling too emotional about the issue when I found out and needed to talk about it (to someone except my husband)..... learnt my lesson, will not do so again.
Re: Aborting a baby
It's OK MIAinVA. Life1 is full of stories about life's experiences, ours or other people's.
Re: Aborting a baby
No one has an answer to my question? :(
Re: Aborting a baby

I will not allow abortion if that baby is not deformed to the point that there is no way it is going to survive. If Allah gave it a life then I have no right to take that life. If Allah wants to test me that way ,then I will try my best not to fail the test.
Re: Aborting a baby
you’re wrong there…the fetus does form but the contraceptive pill sometimes prevents it from implanting…hence aborting it…see this video:
Doctor Zakir Naik also says that the contraceptive pill is an early form of abortion: http://crazymotion.net/is-family-planning-forbidden-haram-in-islam-dr-zakir-naik/wzILyyIOcDXQjAy.html
im a pharmacist and I agree with what Doctor Zakir Naik is saying…if theres any other doctors or pharmacists here on Gupshup…please let us know what you think too ![]()
This is one of the reasons for which I have personally never used the contraceptive pill too…or anything similar…and would never take the morning after pill
