Like i said, this is all from my personal experience. It IS a gender issue. Guys want big weddings not for themselves, but to make the girls happy.
I never said I would spend $5,000 for my wedding (dont run away sara and shweets), but that’s how much I would ideally like to spend – I am sure our Prophet (SAW) spent much less than that–but, like you, i live in the real world, and I am aware I will have to spend more than that.

Our prophet SAW also married many women, whilst you and the majority of guys hav truble just getting one larki razzi

I disagree…y can’t u accept that there are SOME guys out there who do want it for THEMSELVES…i can’t speak for anyone else, that’s y i am tellin u wot is the case in my situation…i have never demanded it in any way…he wants it for HIMSELF…it isn’t a gender issue or a desi issue in my eyes…it’s about ur own wishes/dreams and preference for ur wedding.

dope, u seem like a nice guy. Why marry an ABCD in the first place? There are so many girls with much more qualities and class back home. Why sell yourself short and marry some spoilt broad here.

The ABCDs here are neither american, british (or whatever their native country) nor pakistanis. Hence they can’t either cook good nor are good looking (admit it, Paki girls back home are waaay hotter than any brown abcd chicks here ).

Agar itni hi musibat palni hai to kisi gori se na kar loon? (atleast they make an effort to keep ‘fit’ after marriage… lol)

As mehnaz and FF said I totallya gree with them, thats how it should be. Thats how I had it done am very happy thanks to Allah. But you do realize that you will always remember that one day, it could bring back happy memories if u go with what bride said or you could end up alone in cold nights. Best of luck, you have good intentions but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do anything for ur wedding.

The Shaadi was just one day. It was just a ritual. It went by like a blur. We invited family and friends. Gave them food and drink. It was very simple and quiet. But my marriage is forever. I didn't get married to dazzle anyone with an extravagant Shaadi. It wasn't meant to impress anyone but to declare my commitment to my husband.
