Yea ok i’m naive even though i gave u an example of a guy who did want a big wedding…jeez, ur so narrow-minded if u think it’s a gender thing…it’s wot u prefer, some girls want a big wedding yes…but some guys do too…LOL, $5,000! I dunno wot world ur living in…basic stuff for weddings is so expensive…i mean even i, being a simple person and wanting a small wedding (even though i know it won’t be), know that it costs wayyyy more than 5 grand, it’s common sense…perhaps it’s u and the guys u know that r naive ay.

Like i said, this is all from my personal experience. It IS a gender issue. Guys want big weddings not for themselves, but to make the girls happy.
I never said I would spend $5,000 for my wedding (dont run away sara and shweets), but that’s how much I would ideally like to spend – I am sure our Prophet (SAW) spent much less than that–but, like you, i live in the real world, and I am aware I will have to spend more than that.

That’s my point, some guys do…perhaps u just haven’t come across any of them then…cos trust me, my fiance knew from day one that i didn’t want a big wedding…but he does…he says too bad, it’s my wedding too haha! And that he’s only getting married once and wants it to be the best he can possibly do…now, we also think it is very wrong to spend more than u can afford and get urself into debt…but spending on ur own budget to ur own tastes is a reasonable thing…if u wud ideally like to spend only $5,000, then all i’m saying is that u wudn’t get much…not cos u know the girl wud want more…but bcos things r just so expensive…i mean u don’t want ppl to be sittin on plastic chairs n stuff do u now! But i see wot ur saying that of course we want to try not to spend that much, cos it seems silly…but oneday when u look back at it, u’ll see it was a good investment…just don’t think it’s only gals, that’s all i’m trying to say

It is only girls who want it for THEMSELVES. There is a world of a difference between wanting it for yourself and wanting it for someone else. Women want it for themselves and men simply want it because the women demand it.

I disagree…y can’t u accept that there are SOME guys out there who do want it for THEMSELVES…i can’t speak for anyone else, that’s y i am tellin u wot is the case in my situation…i have never demanded it in any way…he wants it for HIMSELF…it isn’t a gender issue or a desi issue in my eyes…it’s about ur own wishes/dreams and preference for ur wedding.
