Why do you have an inferiority complex on being a Muslim and being a desi? by almost all your posts, it is evident that you think of western culture and non Muslims superiors to yourself. Your life revolves around pleasing the western society and living by the ways set out by them irrespective of whether its right or wrong. I personally don’t feel anything bad in picking and following the good points of any culture, but having a mentality that everything that exists in desi culture or Islamic culture is wrong or outdated, kinda shows that a person has a very limited and narrow mindset.

Remember laws do change. Even society acceptability changes. Earlier it was said that marriage is a contract between a man and a woman, now same sex marriages are allowed in many states. Similarly prostitution is allowed in some states as well.
You have to respect the law but don’t need to do everything that is legal, prostitution is legal in Turkey but not everyone uses prostitutes. Smoking and gambling are legal and yet we have a problem with that.

There is no point in getting infuriated or defensive about this. The general lack of cleanliness and hygiene hits the eye wherever one goes in India — hotels, hospitals, households, work places, railway trains, airplanes and, yes, temples. Indians think nothing of spitting whenever they like and wherever they choose, and living in surroundings which they themselves make unliveable by their dirty habits.
