I and most of the other people were right when we suggested that the channel closed down due to internal problems.
So I was also right when I suggested that Mr Shamas Rehman may launch his own channel. So is he part of the new channel?
**Former Aapna Channel owners to launch KBC **
Jul 30, 2008 03:30 PM
Former owners of the now demised Aapna Channel will be launching a new service on Sky Digital in the coming weeks.
The channel, which will be known as KBC will specialise in Kashmiri infotainment like its predecessor. It will broadcast shows in Pahari and Mirpuri, with selected programmes also in Pothowari and Hindko.
Incidentally KBC launches weeks after Aap TV began its test run replacing DM News on the Sky EPG. It has now come to know that Aapna Channel closed down due to internal politics, which lead to shareholders going their separate ways. Some remained loyal with the ‘Aap’ brand to launch Aap TV and the others are now launching KBC.
Aap TV is available on EPG 803 - former slot of DM News. It is rumoured that KBC has bought an EPG slot from an existing shopping channel. It is currently unknown when KBC will officially launch.
KBC is EPG data testing. Video and audio tests are expected soon.
Tests of KBC can be viewed in the following way:
→ Using your Sky Digi remote, go to Services Menu
→ System Setup (4)
→ Add Channels (4)
→ Enter the frequency: 12.525 (V), FEC 2/3, Symbol Rate 27500
→ Find Channels and Press SELECT
→ Highlight “55111” service and press Yellow button.
→ Return to Services Menu
→ Other Channels (6) on STB / (8) on Sky+
→ “55111” should be listed and available
