Soon a channel will be launched called Aapna Channel.

This is Uk’s first and only Pahari/Mirpuri language TV channel.

This channel is broadcasting in Asia since June and will be on Sky Digital in UK very soon.

you will see programmes in your own language, such as dramas, talk shows, documentaries and music.

Looking forward to the launch of the channel.

There was a definite need for such a launch in the UK considering the fact that majority of the Pakistanis/Kashmiris here speaks the language or at least understands it.

Did you know that there is over 700000 people who speak this langauge, this is UK alone.:)

aapna tv should be a success because the other pakistani channels dont represent the mirpuri/kashmir community. only dm digital and prime tv have programmes in punjabi. ary digital and geo only represent the urdu speaking community.

Aapna channel will be launching on 23rd April inshallah with test should be starting on the 9th of April.

By the way tests will start on 10th April, as 9th April is Bank holiday.

There has been a delay, due to sky allocating frequency, so test transmission start soon.

**AAPNA CHANNEL HAS STARTED TEST TRANSMISSION ON SKY. THOSE FROM AZAD KASHMIR ESPECIALLY SHOULD TUNE INTO THE CHANNEL AS YOU WILL RECOGNISE SOME FAMALIAR PLACES. **

I REALLY LIKE SOME OF THE CLIPS THEY SHOW OF NATURAL BEAUTY OF OF AZAD KASHMIR. IT LOOKS A LOT BETTER QUALITY THAN THE CRAPPY DM DIGITAL.

Aapna Channel begins tests ahead of launch

The UK’s first all-Kashmiri infotainment service called Aapna Channel has commenced full video and audio testing ahead of its official Sky Digital launch.

The channel will broadcast in Pahari and Mirpuri, with selected programmes also in Pothowari and Hindko.

Tests of the channel are showing a promo loop of forthcoming shows. It has been broadcasting in Asia for a year and has managed to generate a good response.

Aapna Channel will be available on Sky Digital from Monday 23rd April 2007.

Testing for Aapna Channel can be viewed in the following way:

→ Using your Sky Digi remote, go to Services Menu
→ System Setup (4)
→ Add Channels (4)
→ Enter the frequency: 11.259 (V), FEC 2/3, Symbol Rate 27500
→ Find Channels and Press SELECT
→ Highlight “52115” service and press Yellow button.
→ Return to Services Menu
→ Other Channels (6) on STB / (8) on Sky+
→ “52115” should be listed and available

Hello All

I have specifically joined this forum to talk about this Aapna Channel. I think it is pretty good in terms of quality and presentation. I happen to know some of the people behind it quite well and have been passing all your comments on to them, it is something us Mirpuris should be proud of and that includes all Gujarkhanis, potoharis and people from Mansehra Abbottabad region as this channel is for us. Do post your comments here once you have seen it as these people are very keen to learn what people think and very open to ideas and suggestions.
