What's your recipe for the bang bang shrimp?
Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya
Hello everyone.
U can either roast the shrimp in garlic/salt/b.p/olive oil/paprika.. and then make the pasta as below. Or do it exactly like those apps and deep fry it in a coating, and then add the pasta + sauce. I deep fried it.
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 Corn starch/corn flour
1/2 cup AP flour
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
1 tsp garlic power
1 tsp onion powder
Salt
Black pepper
2 eggs, whisked with a bit of water
Pour the corn starch in a separat bowl and set aside. Mix the plain flour/panko/seasoning and set asidr in anoter bowl. And finally have ur eggs in anpther bowl. Dredge the shrimp in the corn starch, then the eggs, and then into the flour/panko mix. Once all the shrimp is breaded, place it in the frodge for 20 mins.
In the meantime, make the bang bang sauce:
3/4 cup mayo
A little less than 1/4 cup chili garlic sauce (Huy Fong brand)
1/4 cup Thai sweet chilli sauce
2 Tbsp Sriracha
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp vinegar
3 cloves of garlic crushed/minced finely
Pinch of red pepper flakes
Pinch of salt and pepper
Just mix everything together and ur sauce is ready.
When the shrimp are ready fry then in batches and at the same time boil ur spaghetti. Once both are done, set them aside and let it cool down just slightly - mabe 3 mins. Then in a big bowl, mix the shrimp/sauce/spaghetti together. Add black pepper, and taste for seasoming. Add green onion and serve.
It seem like a lot of work but it took me 25 ish mins, start to finish. U don't need to let the shrimp ret for the full 20 mins.. but it's better if u do.

The pasta recipe is very simple, u can use chicken thighs or chicken breast, cut into thin strips.
5-6 cloves of garlic, minced
4 Tbsp butter
Olive oil
1 &1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 Tbsp flour
1/4 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, divided
Penne pasta
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil, chopped
Boil the water for ur pasta. Cook the chicken first in 2 Tbsp butter, a bit of olive oil, and half the minced garlic. When cooked set it aside. Add the pasta to the water.
In the same pan as the chicken, melt the rest of the butter, add the remaining garlic and red pepper flakes, and the four. Cook for about 2 mins and then slowly whisk in the chicken broth. When it is incorporated, add the cream, dried herbs, and Parmesan cheese. Let the mixture reduce and thicken a bit and then add the chicken back in with all its juices... u might have to thin it out a bit and cook an additional 15 mins if ur using chicken thighs. Add the penne and the basil and mix until heated throughout.
The pizza was a simple dough recipe by Laura Vitale. I use a different recipe usually but i had leftover dough from another of her recipes.

Buffalo chicken stromboli... it was delicious
I would love to try this, recipe pls?
Thank you!
It was a Laura Vitale recipe. Here it is;
1 lb of Pizza Dough
1 lb of Chicken Tenders, cut into bite size pieces
3 Tbsp of Unsalted Butter
1/2 cup of Hot Sauce, I used Franks
About 2 Cups of Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1 Tbsp of Salt Free Steak Seasoning
1 Tbsp of Granulated Garlic
Salt and Pepper, to taste
1/2 cup of Blue Cheese Crumbles, optional
Process,
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
Preheat a large skillet between medium and medium high heat.
Add the butter and allow it to melt, add the chicken and steak seasoning and cook it for 6 to 7 minutes or until mostly cooked through.
Season with some salt and pepper, add the hot sauce, turn the heat to high and let the mixture cook until the hot sauce thickens. Remove from the heat and allow to cool completely.
Roll the dough to about a 14 inch circle, sprinkle the mozzarella all along the edge closest to you, scatter the cooked chicken and hot sauce evenly over the top and sprinkle the blue cheese crumbles all over top.
Tightly roll it like a jelly roll (making sure the sides are all pinched shut) pinching the seam at the end .
Place it seam side down on a parchment paper lined baking sheet, and using a small paring knife make a few slices over the top for the steam to escape.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool a bit before serving.
I would recommend a verrryyyy teensy amount of blue cheese.. otherwise it can be a bit too strong.
