A few friends stopped by unexpectedly and I put together this chicken karahi recipe and it turned out really good. I served it with mint raita and Dawn Tandoori naan.
Try this recipe and let me know how it came out for you!
*Ingredients: *
4 lbs cube size boneless chicken
1/4 cup oil (olive or canola)
1 tablespoon crushed ginger (adrak)
1 tablespoon crushed garlic (lasson)
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper (lal mirch)
1 tablespoon black pepper (kala mirch)
1 table spoon crushed coriander seeds (dhanya )
6-8 whole green chilis (hari mirch)
I 8oz can crushed tomatoes (use 6 to 8 roma tomatoes chopped finely)
Salt per taste
½ bunch fresh cilantro (coriander or dhanya patta) chopped
Method:
Heat oil and fry chicken with ginger and garlic for few minutes till golden brown. Add red pepper, black pepper and coriander. Cook for another two to three minutes. Add tomatoes and cook with half cup of water and cook till the water from tomatoes almost dries up on low heat (About 20 minutes). Add green chilis and chopped cilantro. Cook for another couple minutes. Decorate with finely chopped fresh ginger and serve with hot fresh nan.
Cooking time 35 – 40 minutes. Serves: 4

I ate it all otherwise i would have posted a picture.
It is actually the flower bud and is plucked right before it is about to flower. No bud that has opened already though as it will taste different. It tastes like you are actually eating ......ummmm i don't know how to explain but not like meat. i used to eat rosepatels when i was kid and i can compare the taste to it. I felt that it was a bit dry in beg but then i grew on me. I actually liked it more than any other veg.

Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya
give me an idea for mince beef please somebody. But I DON'T WANT:
- keema aaloo
- lasagna
- keema pizza
- kebabs (already have them in freezer)
- koftay (boring...)
So anything else? I'm thinking cottage pie... any desi dish ideas??
