Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya
H&NK- I made it out of Shan masala Hunter Beef. Marinated it for 4 days. I didn't need to boil it for more then 3 hours, because it become to tender, and than I put it in the oven for 15 mins to give it a nice crust on top. That's all.
Sweetmoi- I make aloo kay kabab with chat masala. After many tried recipes, I ended up loving it with chat masala. Plus it always leaves the guests wondering about the the secret ingredient :D
5-6 medium aloo
1 medium onion (chopped finely)
3-4 green chillies (chopped finely)
dhanya (chopped)
crushed khala zeera
4-5 tbsp of chat masala (depends how spicy you like)
2 tsp ajwain
3 tbs of methi (this is my favorite so I normally put more)
salt/ black pepper to taste
The key is to have all the above ingredients mixed in the bowl while the aloo are boiling. And than mash the hot aloo in the mixture, it really brings out the smells and flavor. Than make patties and dip in egg and fry and you're done.

Maheen2002- The tomato basil tart recipe is from Annie’s Eats. Here is the link: http://annies-eats.com/2009/09/28/tomato-mozzarella-basil-tart/
H&NK-The pasta was something I threw together last minute. While I boiled the penne pasta, I sauted onions and bellpeppers and added them into pre-made spaghetti sauce (Prego is the best!). When the pasta was done I drained it and mixed with the sauce, added it into a casserole dish, topped with mozerella and olives and baked it then broiled the top a bit.
You can use any vegetables and add meat. I usually add gound beef but didn’t have time to defrost it.
Afsoon- Lol I don’t mind, is there any specific recipe you want?
Gaia- I have to try your aloo tikki recipe, I have never made them using chaat masala, sounds really good :yummy:

Guys..for those who have made this chicken bread…
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=260931960586952&set=a.230220986991383.79261.228648080482007&type=1
can ready made dough be used? Actually…does ready made dough even exist??
and if I make it from scratch…is milk powder and sugar really necessary? we really don’t keep sugar in the house and I feel these two ingredients would be a waste since they may never be used after making the bread… advice ?
Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya
I think puff pastry could be used.
I thought the milk powder was strange and I wonder if liquid milk can be used. I've made the recipe...during Ramzan...still have pics of it on my cell....it turned out awesome. I added mushrooms to the chicken and I think next time I'll replace that with green and red bell peppers.
Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya
ahh puff pastry...that's an awesome idea..i think ill just use that..NO..BAD HOUSEWIFE, BAD
Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya
Oh I thought the same thing..lazy baker thoughts…
I thought maybe I could use the dough they sell in cans…like the ones for crescents maybe.Instead of tearing apart the triangle,I could use the entire thing like a sheet and press the readymade cuts together. The genius I am I did buy the crescent dough few weeks ago but I just baked them as crescents and never got to try this recipe.
I think it will work better than the puff pastry,as it is too flaky and crispy.
If you try it,please share how it came out.
