Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya

I tried something new today!

Spicy Prawns with Aubergines and Potatoes

Here’s what I made (looks sort of dark bcuz of the eggplant but was yummy!)

Here’s the recipe: Chachi’s Kitchen: Spicy Prawns with Aubergines and Potatoes

The only thing I did differently is: I added red chilli powder with rest of the masala and while frying the shrimps I also stirfried some sliced green onions. It was quite tasty!

Hi,

Why don't u start with daal and rice. And make simple chicken curry or a vegetable dish.
The best way to learn how to cook is practising!

Just pick one recipe from this thread and follow it as well as you can!

Good luck :-)

Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya

im making chappal kabab with daal and baingan ka bharta today :) i have no energy left in me to cook though!

Bhagaar is the final step in the above mentioned recipe.
It basically means heating oil in a (frying) pan and frying onions/adrak/green chilli/zeera etc. You add that mixture to your dish right at the end, when it's (almost) done.

Shinoo man your food always looks so beautiful and colorful and delicious! Do you spend alot of time getting it perfect or are you just naturally talented?

thanx you so much Shinoo
plz tell me one thing what is hazelnut called in urdu?
can i use cream cheese instead of mascarpone?

i really wanna use sweet corns insted of HAZELNUTS :stuck_out_tongue:

wow…yum yum:p

Hmm I'm not sure about sweetcorn in a cake! I don't know what hazelnuts are called in urdu?? Does anone here know?? Use badaam instead or even walnuts (akhrot)

Yeah creamcheese is fine too. Just make sure it's not salty!

hehehe thanks skittlez! No I don't do anyting to make it look pretty. Most of the time I just experiment on my own or follow a recipe and try to 'perfect' it :-)

Shinoo, i followed exact recipe of yours of halwa, but it didn’t come to be yellow as in this picture and as goey as this… :bummer:

beef chilli

could you please share the recipe for beef chilli…i love it but never get it quite right :frowning:

Hmm that’s strange. I actually followed this recipe myself (I had to make a lot so I doubled the quantities). Oh and I also added a pinch of yellow foodcolor in the sugar mixture! That explains why mine is a bit yellow

Maybe next time when u add the sheera to the sooji mixture wait till some of the water has evaporated and then quickly turn off the heat. Leave it a little more moist than normal, that should work!
