this is a very bad way of even stating something like the utility of a husband as a money making machine.
a good husband is so dear a blessing of Allah swt.
his health, peace and comfort does not matter to a woman? why? howcome?
and we all know what truly good spouse is about - care.
money is nothing.
what is needed is simply having just enough to feed one's family and having enough to live a decent life.
but not abnoxiously lavish and wasteful. in there is what is of eternal discomfort.

just an instance of how south american women sacrifice their lives for their husbands and for the rights of so many people.
countless afghani, iraqi, kashmiri, bosnian, and african women have borne so much horror. one may try to give them all the riches in the world and new men, i am sure they wont ever be able to replace their husbands' memories.
men kill men. men are obscene as they are, when they sell and kidnap women for other men, an men violate women. not all but countless.
if women were to emphasize on money, men would lose respect even beyond no respect for women and actually practice hurting women in countless shameless and insensitive ways.
so please, this notion of men only good for easy money, has to go.
and women who are with men who may be very rich are not the happiest.

This thread was started with just a quote by some unknown author without my personal comment or opinion. I hope you noticed the question marks at the end denoting that I was only looking to see other people's comments. Some people were having fun some people were having discussions.
I don't think any sensible lady regards her husband as a money making machine. :)
I don't either. Alhamdullilah, I have been married successfully for 11 years. Been through good and rough times financially but our marriage never suffered.
