Challenging commands of Allah can also be attributed to blasphemy. Problem here is lack of understanding of Allah's commands which are very clealry stated in Quran. If u do not believe in Allahs words then shall we even entertatin your arguments? Allah clealry states to approach Muhammed (PBUH) to resolve your problems, this ayath has been mentioned in Sura 4, word used is Waseela.
Re: A question from a Bralvi person, how come Martys are alive and Prophets are not?
i dont need to cuz what im saying it clearly written in the quran. The “light” in it’s context is not how u interpret it.
Re: A question from a Bralvi person, how come Martys are alive and Prophets are not?
Ibn Jarir al-Tabari in his Tafsir jami` al-bayan (6:92) said: "There has come to you a Light from Allah: He means by the Light: Muhammad, Blessings and peace upon him, by means of whom Allah has illuminated the truth, brought forth Islam, and obliterated idolatry. Therefore he (the Prophet) is a light for those who have been enlightened by him and by his exposition of truth."
al-Nasafi in his commentary entitled Tafsir al-Madarik (1:276) and al-Qasimi in his Mahasin al-ta'wil (6:1921) similarly say: "There has come to you a Light from Allah: this is the light of Muhammad, Blessings and peace upon him, because one is guided by him. Similarly he has been called a lamp (siraj)."
Imam Ahmad al-Sawi similarly said in his supercommentary on Tafsir al-Jalalayn (1:258): "There has come to you a Light from Allah: that Light is the Prophet, Blessings and peace upon him. He was named a light because he enlightens the sight and guides it to the correct path; and also because he is the root of every light whether material or spiritual
How many more tafsirs shall i post?...none which btw say he was created from the light of Allah as you previously stated.
Re: A question from a Bralvi person, how come Martys are alive and Prophets are not?
"There has come to you a Light from Allah, and a Manifest Book" (Qur’an 5:15).
in which the word Light has been explained by a number of classic Qur’anic exegetes as follows:
(Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti:) "It is the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace)" (Tafsir al-Jalalayn, 139).
(Ibn Jarir al-Tabari:) "By Light He means Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace), through whom Allah has illuminated the truth, manifested Islam, and obliterated polytheism; since he is a light for whoever seeks illumination from him, which makes plain the truth" (Jami‘ al-bayan, 6.161).
(Fakhr al-Razi:) "There are various positions about it, the first being that the Light is Muhammad, and the Book is the Qur’an " (al-Tafsir al-kabir, 11:194).
(al-Baghawi:) "It means Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace), or, according to a weaker position, Islam" (Ma‘alam al-Tanzil, 2.228).
And Qurtubi (Ahkam al-Qur’an , 6.118) and Mawardi (al-Nukat wa al-‘uyun, 2.22) mention that interpreting Nur as "Muhammad" (Allah bless him and give him peace) was also the position by [the Imam of Arabic grammar Ibrahim ibn Muhammad] al-Zajjaj (d. 311/923).

I don't know why it comes like this.
Re: A question from a Bralvi person, how come Martys are alive and Prophets are not?
Muslim Met Fan, please provide me with the volume and page number for Tafsir ibn Kathir where supposedly Ibn Kathir has claimed that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was created from noor.
I’ve got tafsir Ibn Kathir at home and I’d like to verify this one.
Please refer to the following:

these are ALL similar to the ones i posted..however NONE of them say he is created from light.....as I have mentioned to you many times!! u still have yet to show me one that does...
why cant u just admit that you were mistaken in the way u worded it? I'm assuming you meant "light" in the way I have mentioned it above.
Re: A question from a Bralvi person, how come Martys are alive and Prophets are not?
thanks Sadiyah for those links…I hope that Insha’Allah it will shed some “light” to those who are misinformed.
Re: A question from a Bralvi person, how come Martys are alive and Prophets are not?
We all are sourcing the same references, difference of opinion can be found in the
1. literal versus allegorical interpertations
2. Deliberate massaging or selective readings
3. Lack of knowledge.
I have qouted Quranic ayath to support the interpertation of Prophet being Noor, I can also dig out numerous ahadith to lend more support which seems unneccessary after Allah's words qouted in Quran.
Re: A question from a Bralvi person, how come Martys are alive and Prophets are not?
Sorry to interject, but why are so many of you fixated at the issue of “noor” (light)?
The question originally raised was whether the prophets (Peace be upon them all) have the same (or better) status than shuhada’a, about which the Quran says ‘And do not term those who have been killed in the path of Allah as dead. In fact, they are living but you perceive not.’ [2:153].
I think the main issue to be discussed is not about whether the Prophet was created from noor or clay or whatever. But what is the definition of “alive” when we talk about people who have passed away from this dunyaa. I don’t think anyone claims that the Prophet(s) are sitting up there, eating, drinking etc like normal living people in this dunyaa. Just like everyone else who has died, they are in the state of barzakh (interval between death and resurrection). Martyrs (shaheed) are also in the state of barzakh, but due to their martyrdom, Quran says don’t call them “dead”. Question is do Prophet(s) qualify for the same classification as well, or they are even a step ahead of martyrs?
By the way, I found the following commentary](http://www.central-mosque.com/fiqh/alive.htm)from **Mufti Ebrahim Desai **on this topic. It may have been posted already in this thread, and if it is, I apologize for duplication. I can certainly see why the concept is difficult to grasp for some people, but to call the opposing view point “nonsense” just displays the shallowness of your own manners of debate.

I have been saying this all along. You can't proclaim yourself right and the other wrong because there are different interpretations and opinions. We have stated our case and others have as well. It just seems as though there are 2 different interpretations over the same references.

I just looked over the voumes and couldn't find where he claimed Muhammad (SAAS) to be created from noor. So that's my mistake.
The cut paste links doesn't prove anything but one side of the story.
Re: A question from a Bralvi person, how come Martys are alive and Prophets are not?
i don't understand y ppl r continuing 2 b so adamant,....Muslim Met Fan and Fartguru have clearly stated that they are jus t expressing THEIR OWN views,.whether u blv them or not, they're not bothered.

Re: A question from a Bralvi person, how come Martys are alive and Prophets are not?
How mature. First one of you accuses Ibn Kathir for saying a statement, then retracts it. Then some of you move forward and suggest that you're dealing with a brick wall.
The same could be said about people holding views and beliefs that are in accord with yours.
Re: A question from a Bralvi person, how come Martys are alive and Prophets are not?
Well that is wat it seems like,......the people who have expressed the views of the Ahl-E-Sunnah Jamaat were by no means looking for a fight. They were simply expressing their views but as some people are so adamant, it is as though they are speaking 2 a brick wall!
