When I was debating with my Bralvi friend. He asked me this question that why Martys, people who get shaheed, are to be alive, why not Prophets? Prophets are the higher level than Martys. Can anybody clear with this question please and thanks.

I don't know about the prophets outside of Isa (AS) and Muhammad (SAAS). But to say Muhammad (SAAS) is dead and can no longer respond to us is completely is insulting. One of Prophet Muhammad's (SAAS) name is 'Noor'. Every Muslim believes that Allah used some of his 'noor' and created Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) and many say his family as well.
Prophets have higher status than Shaheed and it doesn't matter if they are alive or not. However I believe Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) is alive, maybe not physically, but in another form (Noor).

Chapter : 3 (Al-`Imran) Verse : 145
And Muhammad is but a messenger. Verily all Messengers have passed away before him. If then he dies or is slain, will you turn back on your heels? And he who turns back on his heels shall not harm Allah at all. And Allah will certainly reward the grateful.
Prophets are human beings and die like human beings. Only Allah is ever living.

Interestingly enough though, the Prophet Sallallah Alaih Wasalam met a number of prophets during his Mairage (sp?)

Prophets r alive in thier garve ...its prove with many ahadees ..
but its dosent mean that prohept is hazir o nazir ..and they can replied u where ever u r .... but only when u r in roaz-e-rasool Salal Allaho alyi waslam ..
Life of grave ( hayat-e-barzkh) is totlly diff from our lives and no one knows & understand about it ..only allah knows

Yes...please give references of those hadith that prove that prophets are alivein their graves.
And I believe that one of the fundamental differences that define the gap between barailvis and sunnis is this very belief that Huzoor SAW (pbuh) can respond to us and grace us with his presence.
Being sunni, I can say that to suggest that our beloved prophet (pbuh) is not dead is totally against Islamic teachings.

i think there are some hadiths those say that earth don't eat prophet's body....thier bodies remain safe. can someone please provide ref for it.....

U need to find out what shirk means b4 passing such judgement. Tawhid or Onness of Allah, associating anything or anybody with Allah on the same level is called shirk. I hope that clears your misconceptions, if anything it is Bidaa that can be used to explain this concept. Now whether it is Bidaa or not, that is a separate issue.

Barelvi is a school of thought premised on sunni traditions originating from Mecca, Medina, Baghdad ie birth place of Muhammed (PBUH). Naqshbandi, Chishti, Junaidi, Baghdadi etc etc these are mere names attached to their famous sheikhs or place of education, but they all share one thing in common and that is love for the holy prophet and followers of sufi traditions.

Yusuf Ali's translation of Verse 33.06 Sura Al Ahzab
"The Prophet is closer to the Believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers. Blood-relations among each other have closer personal ties, in the Decree of God. Than (the Brotherhood of) Believers and Muhajirs: nevertheless do ye what is just to your closest friends: such is the writing in the Decree (of God)."
Verse 33.56
"God and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respect"
Try making sense of these verses, remember these are words of the Quran.

I got different and different answers. The real question is
Bralvi - Thinks that our Prophet was Noor and had not a Shadow. He is not a human being like us.
Deobandi - Opposite of Bralvi, but thinks that Allah Tallah can lie and shatan has more knowledge than our Prophet. Which I totally disagree with these statements of Deobandi.
Wahhabi - Opposite of Bralvi, they think they are right. Their prayer is different with raising up two hands before Ruku. I think they did not change their any Aqeedah or Prayer since 1400 years ago? I think they are the same as 1400 years ago.
Which is right?

For all those who think beleiving that prophet is alive is shirk, I ask them can they explain these ahadiths from Bukhari and Muslim, is this shirk as well? God having a physical being.

Narrated Jarir bin 'Abdullah: The Prophet said, "You will definitely see your Lord* with your own eyes."

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri:We said, "O Allah's Apostle! Shall we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" He said, "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun and the moon when the sky is clear?" We said, "No." He said, "So you will have no difficulty in seeing your Lord on that Day as you have no difficulty in seeing the sun and the moon (in a clear sky)." The Prophet then said...............Then the Almighty will come to them in a shape other than the one which they saw the first* time, and He will say, 'I am your Lord,' and they will say, 'You are not our Lord.' And none will speak: to Him then but the Prophets, and then it will be said to them, 'Do you know any sign by which you can recognize Him?' They will say. 'The Shin,' and so Allah will then uncover His Shin whereupon every believer will prostrate ..........
Volume 9, Book 93, Number 510: *
Narrated 'Abdullah:
A Jew came to the Prophet and said, "O Muhammad! Allah will hold the heavens on a Finger, and the mountains on a Finger, and the trees on a Finger, and all the creation on a Finger, and then He will say, 'I am the King*.' " On that Allah's Apostle smiled till his premolar teeth became visible, and then recited:--
'No just estimate have they made of Allah such as due to him....(39.67) 'Abdullah added: Allah's Apostle smiled (at the Jew's statement) expressing his wonder and believe in what was said.
Volume 9, Book 93, Number 586: *
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Every night when it is the last third of the night, **our Lord, the Superior, the Blessed, descends to the nearest heaven and says*: Is there anyone to invoke Me that I may respond to his invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone asking My forgiveness so that I may forgive him?. "
Volume 1, Book 12, Number 770: *
Narrated Abu Huraira: The people said, "O Allah's Apostle! Shall we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" He replied, .............................So Allah will laugh* and allow him to enter Paradise and will ask him to request as much as he likes. He will do so till all his desires have been fulfilled .
SAHI MUSLIM
Book 040, Number 6809: *
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:* Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, created Adam in His own image with His length of sixty cubits**, and as He created him He told him to greet that group, and that was a party of angels sitting there, and listen to the response that they give him, for it would form his greeting and that of his offspring. He then went away and said: Peace be upon you! They (the angels) said: May there be peace upon you and the Mercy of Allah, and they made an addition of" Mercy of Allah". So he who would get into Paradise would get in the form of Adarn, his length being sixty cubits, then the people who followed him continued to diminish in size up to this day.
Is this shirk or not? Is this called tawheed??

* Book 030, Number 5859: * Anas reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: I happened to pass by Moses as he was busy in saying prayer in his grave, and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of 'Isa there is an addition of these words:, I happened to pass on the occasion of the Night journey." In the hadith pertaining to Yunus (peace be upon him) the words of the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) are:" It is not meet for a, servant that he should say:" I am better than Yunus (jonah) son of Matta."

Which muslims are you talking about? I dont believe that Allah used HIS noor to make prophet:saw:. Its Jihalat like this which spreads across our people and creates problems.

I dont understand this.
This is in conflict with ALLAH (swt) sifat (quality) of being an omnipotent. He is not confined by Space or Time. The word DESCENDING, implies that now HE is no more on the FURTHEST heaven (because now he has DESCENDED to the nearest heaven. I dont understand this. Can some brother or sister shed some light on this. Thanks in advance
