Re: A guy’s take on tea trolley meetings…
during my rishta process, my brother used to serve the tea while me just sitting comfortably and talking to the guy or his family…
… i would tease my brother in the kitchen about how to serve the tea and etc. … ![]()
and about samosas… i wouldnt care about the mess … the only thing i hate to hear was 'yeh samosay (or something whatever) aapnay banaye hain?’ mayra dil chahta tha jawab main yeh kahon *‘jee nahi, saath wali aunty kay ghar say milaad per chaay (6) din pahlay aaye thay, mainay sirf garam kiye hain’ *
Re: A guy's take on tea trolley meetings...
Does that chai trolley thing exist where the girl actually brings out the trolley or chai?
I have done many many chai trolley rishta meetings but none for myself always for when my phoophos or khalas or mamos were in the rishta process.

Also, wouldn't it be better if you just argue about the point being made here instead of picking on me speculating or not?
you also judge too much
Re: A guy's take on tea trolley meetings...
The usual routine in our home was that the sister who was not being introduced served the tea, just to avoid the awkwardness. But in a few recent rishta meetings, I did serve the tea. Disclaimer: I had met the guy before and was on pretty comfortable terms with the guy, but was meeting his parents for the first time. For me, it was less a "rishta meeting" and more two families having a meal together and I actually didn't feel self conscious.
I think that is more common hese days. The one being introduced is usually brought out later and not made to serve.

I'd probably end up burning them, and then you'd judge me forever and ever and ever and ever :(
Re: A guy's take on tea trolley meetings...
Most girls hate having to serve tea during rishta meetings because it creates an awkward situation, but guys what is your take on meeting a girl over a cup of tea served in the presence of family members? Good, not good? Please explain.
Aight..i am not old fashioned fella. So i don't believe she has to serve tea in order to meet the fella's khandan there. And reason i can think is that..she won't be nervous then. In anotha words..if i went " total arrange" marriage route then if she comes out for lets say 5 mins..that should be enough. Btw..i won't be going for total arrange so most probably i would have talked or met with her before!.

I'll take pity on you and marry you anyway. I'm benevolent like that.

hmm, now I'm thinking 15 mins is a good idea. Go for it Slims!
Re: A guy's take on tea trolley meetings...
Cookies will be out in 25 minutes!
Re: A guy's take on tea trolley meetings...
No no not 25 mins Slims, they have to look like cookies at least.
Re: A guy's take on tea trolley meetings...
I think I need to go out and buy some more cookie dough :-/
Re: A guy’s take on tea trolley meetings…
Yeah, I want to know too ![]()
Re: A guy's take on tea trolley meetings...
If I'd never met the girl before it would be awkward. To be honest the whole rishta process seems foreign to me and I definitely wouldn't want a girl to be trotted out and shown off.
I think if it's more relaxed (as in guy and girl have met before) then it's not that big a deal, but I could be wrong as apparently this is something girls get judged on?
