pakistanis seems to have changed their position on this after talking to President Musharraf on the phone.they have asked for an apology from hair ,they wont take the field untill that is done.they have also asked the ball to be shown to the media.ecb is tyring to contact the icc executives in dubai for their decision.i think its the right way to go this policeman like conduct by the icc umpires where they don'nt explain anything and take action against those players who question them should not be tolerated.the match referee should be able to explain on what basis the decision was taken for as long as he can't pakistan should not play.

Geo is quoting Abbas Zaidi, director PCB operations, that match has been awarded to England. Mr. Zaidi also brings the "good news" that 5 ODIs will be played according to schedule. VERY PATHETIC. Also Geo now saying that ICC has done so as well.

After what Hair did, awarding this test to ENGLAND is as red-neck approach as what Hair did. I feel disgusted. Pakistan had a right to protest.. they did for a while and then came back to the ground to play. What was that b@stard Hair thinking by not showing up.. He should’ve been awarded with the tempered ball to shove and make his count to three:mad:
There is no reason left for Pakistan to play ODI’s but if they decide to play I am with them provided they totally black wash these whites…

PAKISTAN FORFEIT FOURTH TEST
England’s final Test against Pakistan ended in dramatic circumstances on Sunday with International Cricket Council officials ruling the match should be forfeited in the hosts’ favour.
Never before in the history of Test cricket has a match been forfeited in this manner.
After hours of deliberations, it was agreed the match could no longer continue following the controversial scenes earlier in the day.
A joint statement from the ICC, England and Wales Cricket Board and Pakistan Cricket Board issued on Sunday night read: "After lengthy negotiations which resulted in agreement between the teams, the match referee and both the ECB and PCB to resume the fourth Test tomorrow, it was concluded that with regret there will be no play on the fifth day.
"The fourth Test has therefore been forfeited with the match being awarded to England.
“In accordance with the laws of cricket, it was noted that the umpires had correctly deemed that Pakistan had forfeited the match and awarded the test to England.”
Pakistan had earlier been aggrieved by the award of five penalty runs to England after umpires Darrell Hair and Billy Doctrove believed there had been ball tampering.

Well, what can you say about ICC. Hair was called insensitive but what about ICC? Instead of asking Mr. Hair to provide an evidence of his allegation which resulted in this controversy, they awarded the match to England, thus adding fuel to the fire.

It was a black day for cricket the moment Pakistani team refused to accept the punishment. I am proud of the pakistani team but sad for the game of cricket. I hope Hair has some ghairat left in him to either present the evidence or resign from elite panel and limited to bangladesh zim matches.
