4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

You really think Hair cares? lol hes probably celebrating, and ICC/ English Media support him in his wrong decisions.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

^ the b@ast@rd has the license from ICC to screw Pakistan. Today, first Raja and then Inzi for the very first time admitted openly that Pakistan has appealed against Hair several times in the past that they don’t want him to officiate Pakistan matches. Still ICC kept on appointing him. What does that prove? ICC gives a damn about Pakistan and their continous backing for the baised Hair resulted in this ugly incidence.
Shame on ICC, shame on ICC elite panel, and Shame on Darrel Hair:mad:

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

I’m with Pakistan all the way!

Probably what happened was that Mr. pubic Hair stood his ground insisting that he did the right thing and on questioning by Pakistani officials wasn’t able to provide evidence… and him and the ICC together refused to give an official statement or re-awarding the runs back.

Even if the option to continue was being considered, it would have been tantamount to accepting the allegation and Pakistan refused. :k: :k:

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

hair wont resign..infact he will be asked to officiate more matches involving pakistan and other asian teams..the more asian teams complain about this guy the more icc seems to support thim...pakistan board had questioned his appointment to officiate matches involving pakistan but they received a slap in the office by icc as he was given 2 matches in this series

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

stupid mother*in icc *in b*st**ds!!!
Pakistan better not play ODI's if ICC and Hair don't apologize so we can show the world we r not a bunch of pushovers and all this was not done in vain!

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

totally :k:

ICC has been EXPOSED — they’ve reached their lowest… quite pathetic display really.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Well put.

But game of cricket lost today. Consequences of this tragic incident will go a long way. One thing is for sure. Hair wont be officiating in any pakistani game from now on.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Hair won the battle.

His decision in favour of England's victory is the final outcome. What prompted the whole controversy is still outstanding. What an open display of racism.

This match should have been abandoned instead!!! That would have been a somewhat better call by the ICC. This is ridiculous. I wish Imran Khan was leading our side...somebody needs to stand up and return the slap! fkin ghareeb qaum

Imagine a Pakistani umpire changing the ball like this. Goras would have fired him on the spot!

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Dickie Bird blames the UMPIRES

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

If the umpires were right to deem that Pakistan had forfeited the match, then why they did come back 2nd time around?I am very sure that ,there is another biased, Sunil gavaskar involved and behind this decision of awarding this match to England, and the most sad part is that nothing will happen to ,public hair ,or any body else responsible for this situation,They will remain haunting Pakistan as ever before,It is such a heart broking and tragic day for every Cricket fan of Pakistan,Insulting,Disgusting,Our board has accepted, that ,yes ,our team cheated ,So we forfeite the Match,I just can,t still believe this whole episode even now, and probably never will,

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Inzi was absolutely dignified today with his approach.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Now Imran Khan blames Hair

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Pakistani Cricket Board should be ashamed of themselves! Dravid and Indian team would have received the backing of their board as they are not sell outs like our PCB board. I can't believe the events that took place today. Hair didn't even offer any explanation to Inzi like he was supposed to. Racist Biggot indeed

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

I can't blv that the PCB are actually giving in so easily,.................scrap that old fogey of an excuse 4 a chairman of the PCB. i rekon the new chairman of the PCB should be none other then our own Imran Khan,...he's the only person who is redi 2 stand up 4 his country in whatever form or shape.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

At 10pm London time, in a makeshift press conference hall in the bowels of the Oval pavilion, it was finally decided that the fourth Test between England and Pakistan should be forfeited in favour of England, after an extraordinary day of rumour, speculation, and high farce that brought the game to the brink of arguably its biggest crisis since Bodyline.

Four long hours after play was called off for the day, and after protracted negotiations between the ICC, the ECB and the PCB, it was left to David Collier, the ECB’s chief executive, to read out a statement that will doubtless raise more questions than answers. Though both teams and their boards were keen for the match to continue, it was the umpires, Darrell Hair and Billy Doctrove, who were not willing to budge from their original decision.

“It was concluded with regret that there will be no play on the fifth day,” read the statement. “The fourth npower Test match between England and Pakistan has therefore been forfeited with the match being awarded to England. In accordance with the laws of cricket it was noted that the umpires had correctly deemed that Pakistan had forfeited the match and awarded the Test to England.”

It may have been the correct application of the letter of the law, but the decision made a mockery of a match in which Pakistan had made all the running from the very first morning, and had been bubbling towards a thrilling conclusion on the final morning, as England looked set to put at least a token target on the board.
According to Surrey officials, 12,000 tickets had been sold in advance - all of which will now have to be refunded, along with 40% of today’s takings - a combined loss of about £400,000. And Pakistan will certainly not be content to return home with a 3-0 defeat to their name, not to mention the further implications of the forfeiture. As Bob Woolmer announced at the close of play: “The team is upset by the inference they have been accused of tampering with the ball and therefore cheating.”

The initial incident took place in the 56th over, when umpires Hair and Doctrove deemed that the quarter seam on the ball had been raised and would therefore have to be changed. But the situation only really kicked off after tea, as the Pakistanis remained in their dressing-room in protest at the decision.

After waiting in the middle of the pitch for twenty minutes, he umpires went to the Pakistan dressing-room to ask whether or not Inzamam-ul-Haq would lead out his team or not before they went out, took the bails off and left, thus awarding the Test to England.
Cricinfo has learnt that after Pakistan refused to come out after the tea break, both umpires, after waiting on the field, went to the Pakistan dressing room to ask whether or not they would continue to play. Inzamam countered by asking the umpires why they had changed the ball, which led to the Pakistan team protesting.

“We are not here to answer that question,” Hair was reported to have said, and when Inzamam didn’t provide any reply to their initial query, they walked back out again. By the time Pakistan were eventually led out onto the field by Inzamam, the umpires had already walked on, knocked the bails off and gone back inside, refusing to come out again.

The decision was made according to Law 21, regarding the result of a match, which states, “A match shall be lost by a side which in the opinion of the umpires refuses to play.” A further subsection adds, “If an umpire considers that an action by any player or players might constitute a refusal by either side to play then the umpires together shall ascertain the cause of the action. If they then decide together that this action does constitute a refusal to play by one side, they shall so inform the captain of that side. If the captain persists in the action the umpires shall award the match in accordance with above.”

*I am interested in finding out that when Mr. Hair went into Pakistan’s dressing room, and after his conversation with Inzi, did he inform Pakistan captain that his actions will force the umpires to award the match to England? *
I am assuming that arrogant prick simply told inzi to answer him and not to question his authority and left the room.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Thanks for toeing the official line...On the contrary, enslaven liberal daddy's little whore of a daughter won't exactly be up my alley and the way you are kissing sheryar's a$$, you'd be more of a candidate in the running for the dyke...

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

This is where Pakistan messed up, by saying that they were willing to come back and play. That muddied up the whole situation and now everybody is talking about forfeiture and not about the ball tampering accusation itself.

I hate this. They should have either forfeited the match when they didn't come out as a protest, or they should have waited until the day was over to stage a protest.

This 'delay-only-protest' has caused people pointing out that Pakistan were responsible in getting the match abandoned when we want them talking about Darrell Hair being unfair in adjudging ball tampering.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

I have read all the posts in every thread, listened to the audio reports and watched the video clips, and I have tried to maintain the burning volcano inside of me, but I will not take this open display of prejudiced and tendentious one-sided biased dogmatic racism anymore. This is the height of bigotry and a dark day in the history of Pakistan, and that nephew of Satan and white Australian piece of ignorant gutter trash can go straight to hell as far as I am concerned.
