Hmm I think Hafeez, Farhat, Rao, Afridi, and Malik, should be dropped in definately, Hafeez is an opener who plays slow, and gets out and will never score over 40, Farhat we all know how he is, Rao will never pick up wickets and is only economical at times, Afridi doesnt deserve a place, and Malik is not an allrounder now, and I'm sure we have sum batsman in Pakistan who are better, who can play sum swing competently and not be knocked over as easily. Yasir Hameed shud be made our permanent opener, he can grind it out and if u say he fishes outside offstump look at our openers now or tell me anyone who doesn't. WC chances look bleak if woolmer sticks with these jokers.

This should be Rao's last game for Pakistan. 41 runs in 4 overs incl. 21 taken off one. I am not sure why the dopey Inzi keeps picking this very ordinary bowler time and time again.
His services should no longer be needed now we have 6 good seamers to choose from - Akhtar, Asif, Gul, Rana, Shabbir and Shahid Nazir. Why have they not tried Nazir in ODIs? It's almost like Inzi and the PCB management have decided that he's only a test bowler. Remember Shahid Nazir first came to attention when he played a significant part in Pakistan's Benson and Hedges series win in Australia in 1997. He dismissed Lara in both the finals.

yeah nazir should be in the team.rao has bowled well with the new ball recently.today he was nt given the new ball and went for too many runs.this means that sami might just make it back into the team.with asif and akhtar still not out of the woods i think sami should be there in the team.

Ramiz blaming Faisal and Yasir for not scoring big runs, its there fault that they didnt score fast and have more runs, what about the automatic selections doing nothing?!!?!?!

^ Looks like all of you forgot that at least 6 players were out of this match so all this talk about this one playing and that one to be dropped is just academic. By the time WC comes aroudn we will have Shoaib, Asif, Gul and Shabbir as our main attack. So chill.

Well I agree…At least Sami is better in ODI that Rao…Rao is a just pathetic. But what about goold old Shahid Nazir. He warrants a place in the ODI squad after his recent performances against England & WI.
Rao; after 25 ODI, his average is 47… I thought this is a world cup year and preparation for that. You dont even want to consider a guy whose avergae is that high for the WC. So what kinda “parchi” does he have that Shahid cannot get (poor guy).
This reuslt was expected, because we have 3 players in the top 5 who dont know if they would be selected for the 5th ODI so they were playing for keeps. I liked they way Yasir played out a test match, cuz he just had to stand there and block one end as useless stroke selection led to the downfall of others once again. Afridi’s was just a crazy shot again.
And the dahi (yogurt) thats in the head of the team selection committee is something I cannot understand at all. I mean, you take out your best bowler in Umar Gul and leave in Rao. Then you take out someone who has played great the last 2 matches in Abdur Rehman and you replace him with Afridi. What the hell are you guys smoking? Like it was not bad enough, you brake up your opening partnership combination that need to click as on 7 more ODI left before the WC (Well, now 6). Why brake up the openers to beging with, unless you plan on using Afridi as opener in the world cup? But he would have not have played had 3 out of these guys Yousuf/Younis/Inzi been around for this match.
It boils down to this - that the selectors ‘ke demag ke dahi bani howi hai’.

Iman Khan diagnosed sami's problems very well today on geo in the post match show.He said Sami has speed,technique and talent,his problem is lack of confidence and lack of strategy in taking wickets.I don't know what waqar younis is doing as bowling coach,he should be able to work on sami in that respect.that again proves that great players can't always be great coaches.

Honestly when I wokeup and saw score 64/4 I was expecting something like 110-130 all out before 40 overs, but 200+ was a good recovery and Hameed should get credit for that :k: He held up one end while the other was facing exit-door.
The (empty) think tank should have put Samiullah in place of Rao and left Gul in the team… but no, we don’t want to ‘experiment’ with new talent, we’d rather kill ourselves with old ‘talent’.
The result was expected, but scores from Hafeez and Malik are rather disappointing, I was expecting them to hold on for 30+ each.
