You are keeping your calorie intake 1800 or 900? Confused!
1800 is a bit too much in my opinion if you are trying to lose weight in such a short period. Also, I think you are consuming food that doesn't fill you up but has too many calories.
My bkfast today was Pam fried egg which is rougly about 90 calories, a slice of wheat bread, about 90 calories, and a cup of tea with skim milk which is about 100 calories. So, I kept my bkfast under 300 calories and I am full. I usually have a fruit (sometimes more than 2... you can totally have as much fruit as you like) and a cup of fat-free yogurt for lunch. My dinner is usually early. I try to make myself a big whole wheat sandwich with lots a veggies and cold cut meat so that fills me up GOOD. It takes time to make all the things I mentioned but try not to eat processed food which has too many calories and it doesn't fill you up.
Also, you've been working out for a while (a month), your workout time should slowly go up as you get more and more used to the workouts. You have to challenge your body. I can easily workout for 2 hours. When I started I could barely do 15 mins. Do different exercies because your body gets used to the same routine.
calorie counting isn't ideal as ultimately the plan is to lose the weight and maintain it , so do you plan to count calories for the rest of your life?
An alternative is to simply cut back the carbs and eat more high protein foods ....... with excersise
1800 was going to be my intended Calorie Intake (so I have eaten 900 cals and would have 900 more for dinner)
How many calories do you feel I should take, I am rubbish at dieting so any tips would be really helpful
Totally agree with you on the workout time, unfortunately Curves is a strict half hour thing (2 circuits) so I try and focus on making it harder each time I go by more repititions but will definitely start running in the mornings or evenings to push myself
confucius you say your calorie intake is 1800 and you plan to spend 900 of that on dinner - first of all 900 calories is a too high amount of calorie intake to consume in one sitting , what exactly is the 900 calorie dinner you plan to eat ?
An ideal dinner meal for healthy weight loss would be piece of grilled chicken breast with side of steamed green veggies which would equate to approx. 300 - 350 calories .
Cut down your daily intake to 1600 , and spread the range over smaller , healthier meals throughout the day .
You may also have a single serve of carb per day for breakfast or lunch ( piece of bread , 1/2 cup rice , etc ) but that is all and for dinner must consist of a serving of protein alongside steamed or raw vegetables (except for potatoe and carrot) OR soup.
so something like grilled chicken and steamed brocolli , seared steak with beetroot salad,
Shabnaam is right about eating right. You have so much you can eat so make the most out of it by adding healthy food to your diet. I eat EVERYTHING but I know how much to eat. I have pretty much everything in my diet, carbs, protein, fruits, veggies, dairy products. I couldn't eat just protein so I had to include carbs in my diet too, umm because I love carbs. So instead of eating way too much bread or rice I just eat brown bread. Eliminating carbs completely is definitely not a long term solution at least for me. I want a lifestyle where I eat everything... just healthier. More fruits and veggies, whole wheat instead of white, more lean meat etc. And luckily, I am not a fan of sweet stuff.
And like Shabnam mentioned, 300-350 calorie dinner is a good, you don't need 900 calorie dinner.
i agree completely with shabnam and spiral ... i consume 1200-1300 calories in a day plus excercise and i am gradually increasing my excercise timings and what shabnam says persistance pays off :)
yesterday my excercise routine was like this 45 mins of walk and jog,15 mins of jumping rope and 15mins of yoga.. breakfast an apple and a cup of oats, lunch a plate of daal with few apricots and had an orange after an hour, dinner ghar ki roti with salan and a cup of green tea ... tadaaaaaa :)
best part is i feel REALLY GOOD AND FRESH after my workout routine .. how r u guyz feeling !!
To expend 22 lbs worth of calories (22 x 3500) = 77,000
BMR (As in calories expended if I was doing nothing) per day = 1500 (slow BMR during fasting)
Calories used by BMR for month (1500*30days) = 45,000
Remaining Calories to expend = 77,000-45,000 = 32,000
Exercise & burn 500 calories a day for 30 days = 500 * 30 = 15000
Remaining calories to expend = 32,000 - 15000 = 17000
Calories to burn per day for 30 days =17000/30 = 566 calories..
So in essence , I need to produce a calorie deficit of 1066 calories through eating less than 1500 calories and expending atleast a 1000 calories a day..
So that 1000 needs to be by cutting down on my diet and getting my exercise..
Reality hurts when you realise the real picture.. but IT CAN BE DONE
Hey Join in the more the merrier, on a positive note, summer holidays you can take the kids and yourself out for walks maybe or get involved in a lot more calorie expending activities
Hello again,I have been sticking to my diet for the week or so and so far I don't see a difference. I am trying to lose 10 pounds by eating less than 900 calories and working out for an hour. My workout is jumping rope for the most part and some stretching. Jump rope if you want to sweat like a pig. It also burns more calories than running. Because I am tiny I burn about 400 to 500 calories an hour. I have cut out soda and junk food from my diet and I have a lot more energy. I am drinking less coffee and drinking more water. If anything, I just feel more motivated to keep going. I am scared to weigh myself because I am probably heavier than I think, lol.
Ommelette, Veg Boiled and a very clear lettuce soup that aunty made
I then did half an hour skipping, which knackered me, how do you girls do it for an hour.. i must have spent half my time stationary trying to catch my breath
I still haven't gone for a run, I must must do it.. Please ALLAH give me the willpower to wake up in the mornings and run..please
This am..
6am - Banana
9 am - Coffee and a whole pint of lemon water
