40 Day Weight Loss Challenge..

Hi All,

I have DECIDED .. that in the next 40 days I will be planning to lose 10kg of weight that is 22lbs

Would anyone like to join me on this challenge?

If so please start posting on this thread

Stats
Weight now - 70 kg :smack:
Target - 60 kg
Height - 5" 5

My plan is to use

  • Curves (A Ladies weight & resistance based gym) for half an hour for 5 days a week
  • Walk 40 minutes every evening
  • Start running in the mornings but not getting the motivation

I suffer from PCOS and not to use that as an excuse but it makes losing weight really hard so my focus is to eat less high GI foods and focus on more low GI options.

My incentive is that will be seeing hubby on Eid inshALLAH and want to be 10kg less than him.. the dude has lost 15kg since we were married.. and I am only a kg less in weight than him, how embarassing.. must find a tub full of water somewhere..

So who will join me.. Apologies if there is an active thread going for a weight loss challenge .. couldn’t see anything here..

Update for the day

B- Banana at 6.30 am
B- Oat Cereal at 8.30 am when I get into work
B- Milk Coffee
Snks - Nectarine & Plum - 1 each
L- Noodles (Trying to finish the wheat ones and then will go for Bean Thread Noodles which are low GI

Exercise -
Lunch Time - Curves - 30 Minute session
Ran up the Tube escalators rather than stand and wait to get to the top

I have decided that 5 Days will be really good and 2 naughty days

So Sunday to Thursday healthy healthy
and Friday and Saturday are a eat what you like at One meal days

Todays eat what you like will be Lebanese Lamb Shashlik at around 5pm and then nothing tonight as will be travelling for 4 hours and won't get home til late

Drinks - 1 pint of water

Sounds like a Plan!I don't do healthy but I will try. I have decided I need to lose 10 pounds to fit into my old clothes, which I still love. Is there a list of foods I should get? I don't want to cook anythinng. List of things like fruits and snacks I should buy would be much appreciated. Ad you can see I have no idea what healthy is. Also how many calories should I eat? I am thinking 800-1000 is good since I am pretty short. I will do cardio for an hour for five days: does this sound good?

Count me in! Confucius Im the same height as you and roughly the same weight as well!! But i don't want to go as low as 50kg :O maybe just 8 stones! :)

Im gonna do the 30 day shred as well as do some running. I need some extra cardio in my routine!

Hi All
Just an update on moi..

Friday was naughty .. had my shwarma and then went home to family to have rice and lamb curry.. I’ve been staying with family friends who are non pakistani as it is close to my workplace in London and there diet constitutes of very healthy rice based dishes with no spices at all and this has been my diet for the past 3 weeks so I had a shock to the stomach going home to all those pakistani spices.. Had the most horrible stomach pains you could think of

Well Saturday, I kept a roza and opened it with chappal kebab (protein) , Mango (a few spoonfuls) and half a chapatti with spinach and chicken ..was quite healthy and then nothing else for evening oh and I went to t he gym and ran on the treadmill for a whole hour.. :woohoo:

Sunday, Started with 2 slices of wholemeal toast and a half fried egg and went down hill with a fillet burger (mcD’s) / fries and M&M’s

I don’t know what came into me , I felt so so yuck afterwards

I have been reading up about intermittent fasting (so basically something similar to what we do during Ramadan, where you fast for a length of time and then a condensed window where you can eat healthy foods to get back the calories you didn’t have earlier..

Lots of benefits to it as long as you don’t over indulge

I am lucky this year as where I am staying, they are uber healthy and I definitely know there won’t be Pakora’s , Samosa’s or the like dueing Ramadan so am keen to use the opportunity to lose weight and hopefully no issues in goign for a run just before iftar

Today
B: None (Did a 16hr fast) so from 9pm last night to 1pm today)
L: Went to Curves for half an hour
L: Kettles crisps :frowning: and 1 banana, 2 nectarines, 1 Apricot and a packet of bean thread noodles (which are around 150 cals max and low GI )
Snks: Green Tea & 1 coffee

Strong when it came to refraining from the biscuits in a workshop

I can feel a difference in my stomach area from the curves and so want to weigh in at Curves but the supervisor doesn’t like it when I weigh myself, so need to sneak it in when she’s occupied elsewhere..

I have also set up a countdown timer on my desktop to count minutes, hours, days to when I see hubby ..

Currently it’s ticking away at 1 month 6 days 13 hours :slight_smile:

I can see my weight target at 132lbs .. 21.4 pounds to go..

Ps.. Hav subscribed to the thread so motivation will be seeing your messages on my blackberry to know there are others in the same boat
