Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
Good day for India. very Slow batting by Sachin.I hope he makes it count tomorrow. India should score as much as they can. A score of 450+ will take almost diminish chances of loss.

If only Harmisson, Hoggard and Flintoff were fit and playing.

Sidebottom and Anderson have more than made up for them. They have not gotten their full due though - given the missed catches (like from Prior and Strauss today)
Come to think of it - bowling has hardly been England's problem in this series - plus they have gotten ample help from the Umpires.
I am not sure how much difference Harmison & Hoggard would have made.

I think you are trying to say that it would have been better if ICC had arranged for India to play a test series against England instead of this series.... Bloody Malcolm Speed and all other gorass:CareBear:
Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
India 492-6
The game (and the series) is over as far as England is concerned

and I will not hide my true feelings! It is always painful to see india doing well but i give full credit to indian bowlers for putting up a great show. It was the indian bowling in this series who brought the much-needed passion into the indian team.
Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
Six batmens in the Indian team score over 50.........Never seen such a score card for the Indian team !
Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
Kumble on 92 :D
India: 623-9
Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
Kumble gets his maiden test hundred 101* :)
India 636-9 really rubbing it in
Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
I say put an allrounder and Yuvraj in. India needs more runs to save the match.
Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
Maiden test 100 Kumble! :k:
Is this a dream?? :halo:
Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
alrite enough....declare already.
just 12 overs to go before stumps.
Very negative cricket , I am afraid, from Dravid.
What are we waiting for now, Sreesanth's 50 ??
Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
I don't think any side has lost a test after scoring 650+ (I can think of a few instances where sides lost despite making 500) in the first innings in test cricket's 130 year odd history
So let's just say that India 663-9 are finally safe :)
Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
India 664 all out.
Only 8 overs remains to be played out by England.
I am apalled by Dravid's captaincy. "Avoid defeat" is not a great strategy. India should be playing to WIN this test.
Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
what I fail to understand that why did India take so long to declare....anyway, Indians nay to jalloos nikal diya ha englishmen ka....every one is scoring a fifty....why did England make such a batting friendly pitch...are they so afraid of indian bowling....
Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
Where is some 1? u want to drop Dhoni, don’t u?![]()
Re: 3rd Test: India v England at The Oval - Aug 9-13, 2007
Yes and Sreesanth too.
What is your problem ? Yuvraj is techincally more proficient than Dhoni. Dhoni’s innings on a flat track today does not change that fact.
Plus Yuvraj is a super fielder.
Don’t be a Monday morning quarter-back.

What makes you think that is 'Avoid Defeat' strategy. You are only looking at runs and not the time. It is only 2nd day of test match. Strategy is to have enough run on the board so that you can follow on England and then let them again face kumble on 4th and 5th day ( hopefully rough created by left arm pacer would be good enough to exploit).

Yes..and Lords was also flat track. You need to give Dhoni more credit than that. Yes Yuvraj is more proficient but too bad there isnot a place in the team yet. By the way after first test match you wanted Yuvraj to replace Jaffer. Make up your mind, is it Jaffer or Dhoni who should make room for Yuvraj.
