i partially agree ehsan bhai...

yes, you cannot beat SAs based on your fast bowlers only...spin is still our power and spinners can and will play vital role....so rehman shd be in

i wud drop tanvir, hafeez and gul....and bring in rehman, junaid and one more bat...our bowling attack will be irfan, junaid, ajmal and rehman...why do we need 5 bowlers when our batting sucks so much? 4 blowers is a regular phenomenon anyway

why do we need Gul? who at best will chip in with a wicket here and there....add one more bat instead..taufiq is back home...give a chance to haris in that case

jamshed, azhar, younis, misbah, haris, asad, sarfraz, ajmal, irfan, junaid and rehman

if haris is not ready, play with hafeez but at lower order....plus he can bowl as well

Dude I was never in favour of this crappy bowler in TESTS but in ODI he is good not great though

But in this series he sucks should be dropped from the next match aswell

I agree we don't need 5 bowlers when our batting sucks apart from 2 or 3 batsmen. Gul and Tanvir should be dropped

I would probably still play Hafeez

Pakistan fought hard and they shouldn't be too despondent. Their errors were obvious. At the start, they erred by not playing an extra spinner in Abdur Rehman. Ajmal had to shoulder almost all the burden. To say that Mohammad Hafeez was underbowled would be an understatement. Misbah will have a lot to answer. Selection cost Pakistan here. Tanvir was hardly a seam option. He didn't have the pace, nor the movement. Expect changes at Centurion. Ajmal toiled manfully, and Shafiq and Younis showed fine character under pressure in the first innings.

I am now getting more and more convinced that Misbah needs to be removed from captaincy. I mean PCB can't expect that Pakistan will play all of their tests in UAE for goodness sake where the "wait and watch" strategy works.

If PCB was decisive and aggressive like one of our neighbours (Sri Lanka), they would make Azhar or Asad incharge of Test and ODI after the SA series and not touch the captaincy thereafter for a long time. Hafeez as a captain in training for the Test and ODI side is aworthless approach, his own spot is more of an all rounder in test matches(Eng., SA, downunder).

^^ The funny thing is that Pakistan still needs YK and Misbah in the middle order, but they need an aggressive captain and I think Asad who has shown the Tiger heart to fight SA on their soil against the worlds finest bowler right now, deserves that he should be considered for captaincy as well.
Either that or make hafeez the captain but demote him to an All rounder captain with a proper right hand opener paired with Jamshed. Jamshed is young and learning to be an opener in all formats, while hafeez is tried, tested and flopped as an opener against the major sides in away tours. (and please don't call UAE or subcontinent as away conditions.)

However, PCB if they make the above change, which is to change captaincy, they will drop the middle order as well. I think a change is due before Pakistan tours to down under.

Hafeez has is all at sea against quality Seam, Swing bowling on Bouncy turfs
Misbah is somehow unable to to rotate the strike (unlike Younis)
Sarfraz is so useless with his batting if one can call it so
Tanvir is an insult to Fast Bowling in Pakistan

Nasir Jamshed needs to lean to cope with the swing. He is powerful enough to hit the ball to all parts but he lacks Temprament and a bit of Technuqie

Only Asad Safiq, Azhar Ali and Younis Khan have the technique to face quality bowling in AUS, SAF and ENG.

So Basicly we've 2-3 Bats we can rely on and we r seeing the results in this series

Sub continental turfs hide the inadequacies in Batting department but here they r laid bare for everyone too see

have to agree..and this is the first time in 3 years, i am raising voice against misbah's captaincy...i mean even if an idiot like me was leading the team today, i would have done a better job than misbah..why was he using tanvir in middle of SA second innins is beyond me...

but Misbah shd continue with captaincy...he did a great job in first test match as skipper..plus we dont have an alternative..asad is just growing as a player...

SA 109/5 (1st innings), they were allowed to score 326. Pak 147/4 (2nd innings), we got all out for 169!!

Give a young guy a chance...someone who has talent+courage...that's what I meant..so what let him grow into the role, so what if Pakistan looses a few series, tell you what...they are going to loose them anyways under status quo.

Misbah may call it quits after the series is over ... a fair chance anyway

The other option is to make Younis 35, TEST captain until he retires. Not a bad choice imo.

In our culture of seniority and insidious politics, Asad is a nonviable option as captain, atleast for now
