2nd Test: Pak vs Aus

Complete destruction, I don't have to say anything because everyone in here said it above, this is the lowest I have seen Pakistan cricket, and for the past 5 years, I have seen alot of pathetic cricket from Pakistan but this is just not worth it.
I can understand if a team has a bad day and they get out on 59 runs but doing that twice in a row is telling you something.

Lets all hope for the best!
Here is who should be dropped.

Imran Nazir should be dropped.

Taufeeq should be given another chance, as he got out unfortunatly today because of Nazir, he was really tired as well because he was keeping and then he had to open.

Abdul Razzaq should not be ing a test side, because nor he is a specialist bowler or a specialist batsman. Look at Australia, they didn't bring in an allrounder. Eventhough Razzaq bowled well today but in long term he is not a test player and one dayers suits him very well.

Mizbah should also be kept for one dayers as he is too nervous on the field in long term matches, he never gets anything right, I still believe he could become a good batsman but he doesn't have the proper technique to play quality bowlers.

Faisal should be kept, but same should be applied like Mizbah, he is good but very inconsistent.

Younis Khan should be slapped and told to wake up and play good innings, he faired well in the last test so I won't generalize him. He should be kept.

Rashid Latif, I hate to say this but now he should be dropped, I thought he had improved as a batsman but his batting is just like others. I think its time for Moin to comeback and for the captaincy as well.

Waqar should be dropped, his bowling and captaincy is pathetic, he wasn't really tested in a long time against quality batting and I thought he was going to pull something out of the ordinary but its the same, he should be dropped from test and one day side.

Saqlain bowled well, he did his job, but still he is not at his best, my advice to him would be keep playing international cricket and stop going back to county to ruin your career.

Shoaib is a prized jewel to our team, though everyone thought he was suppose to take more wickets than he did, but a wheather like this, you don't blame this guy, he is the best thing about our team.

Danish Kaneria, bowled well but really expensive, troubled the Aussie batsman a little while but when they got used to playing him, they were smacking him all over the place.

Umair, sab ko drop kerdeen tu khele ga koon.

umar agreed about imran nazir and Misbah!
but Rashid has been a role model for the players in terms of cinsitency!
and in htis match's second innings he was injured so he couldnt bat like they way he does! Moin might play in the third test but he is not a good wicket keeper and his batting form was also below par gainst SL -A!!

I think Imran farhat should play instea of Naziur!!
read in a news paper that Youhana might be back for the third test! so letss see what happens!!

I agree its the most pahtetic Pakistani team can get!!

Friends, Pakistan is a country of more than 11 players, if we drop these guys then there will be other coming in. I don't think all of them should be dropped but I know for sure Imran Nazir and Waqar Younis should definatley be dropped.
I want to see Moin Khan play, and his style of captaincy is aggressive, much different than Waqar's. He also has his fair share of losses so I don't know who to go for.

HAHAHAHA .. and you guys think Pakistan will win the world cup? Pakistan’s performance :nook: .. PATHETIC!

Pakistan chief blames lack of experience for test rout

ISLAMABAD, October 12, 2002 (Reuters)

Chishty Mujahid, director of the Pakistan Cricket Board, suggested injuries and a lack of experience as factors behind the second test debacle in Sharjah where Australia swept to an innings and 198-run victory.

“It is very disappointing… and I’m being polite here,” Mujahid told Reuters by telephone from Karachi. “But that’s how cricket is.”

Pakistan plunged to lows of 59 and 53 all out after losing the first test in Colombo by 41 runs with a much better display.

Mujahid said: “You saw the same young batsmen scare the caps off of the Australians in Colombo. I can’t think of any reason why they should have collapsed the way they did in Sharjah but I’d put it down to a combined lack of experience.”

The cricket board will wait for a report from the team management before deciding on their next course of action.

Injuries to leading batsmen Inzamam-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar and Yousuf Youhana and the absence of veteran all-rounder Wasim Akram have meant that Pakistan fielded virtually a second-string team in the three-test series.

The games are being played at neutral venues because of security fears voiced by the Australian team.

“Our entire top-order is inexperienced with Younis Khan the only frontline batsman with some consistent level of experience… so I wouldn’t be so quick to condemn them,” said Mujahid.

Injuries to wicketkeeper Rashid Latif and Abdur Razzaq – ruled out for the next six weeks because of a fractured risk sustained while batting in the second innings – made matters worse, Mujahid said.

But he added: "There’s going to be no chopping and changing… at least, I shouldn’t think so at this point in time.

"Changes might include a senior batsman like Youhana – who’s been training hard for weeks – to bolster the batting… and we’ll also have to wait and see how unfit Rashid Latif is

Does that mean Youhana will be coming back, I heard his injury wasn’t that serious so he might get to play in couple weeks.
I don’t see him coming back make much difference in the side, as test matches are not a one man batting job.

Razzaq out for six weeks with fractured wrist

**SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates, October 12, 2002 (Reuters)

Pakistan all rounder Abdul Razzaq will be sidelined for at least six weeks after fracturing his wrist in the second test against Australia, team management said.

Razzaq injured his left wrist while trying a play an express delivery from Brett Lee on the second day of the test.

He retired on four and was rushed to hospital for an x-ray, which revealed a fracture. Pakistan will discuss a possible replacement for him after the second day’s play. **

We should bring an extra batsman, look at Australia, they have such a strong batting lineup but still they have 7 specialist batsmans. Pakistan currently have 6 specialist batsman excluding Latif and Razzaq.

Well forget the third test match, not worth trying to save reputations there now.

For the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe and SA and the world cup the following should be the team:

Saeed Anwar
Umer
Youhanna
Inzi
Younis
Razzak
Moin (captain)
Akram
Shoaib
Saqlain
Kaneria.

My 2 cents worth.

If Waqar has any self respect he should resign. Under him Pakistan hav bcum the laughing stock of world cricket. I used 2 say hes finished before and ppl loike Umair used 2 disagree saying look at his record but dat was before. Only Yasir used 2agree. Blv me bros he has wrecked the team, pak hav got rid of the coach and manager now they shud get rid of him. Im not sayin dat becoz of this performance but becoz of his bowling. Hes 2 expensive and he neva gets any wkts nemore. In the last 5 yrs hes only got 5 wkt hauls against Bangladesh in a test match. Also we need 2 play 6 batters as even australia do that.

:hehe:

You guys are right, I was always under the impression that Waqar might comeback to his old ways. We always saw hints of that in couple matches.
There is no use to loose hope, 3rd test might produce some new results, we might see couple of new faces in the team, like Hasan Raza who is regarded by Allan Border as one of the best technical batsman he has seen in his lifetime, and that should be big honor. I saw they guy play some beautiful shots when he came to double wicket contest in houston. He has also played with some of the big guys in UK, so he has alot more experience than some of the current batsmans.
I think Youhana will be coming back in 3rd test which is yet to be confirmed, of he does than he should replace Razzaq.
The bowling lineup should be the same as I don't see PCB sacking Waqar Younis in middle of the series. Moin should come in for Latif.
Imran Farhat should be coming in for Nazir.

Here is what I think will be the next team for 3rd test.

Taufeeq Umar
Imran Farhat
Yousuf Youhana
Younis Khan
Hasan Raza
Faisal Iqbal
Moin Khan
Waqar Younis
Saqlain Mushtaq
Shoaib Akhtar
Danesh Kaneria

Yeah I am still confident PAK will win the world cup. When we have Waseem, YoYo, Inzi the team will be different.

asifkm Agree with you and I have been saying that since the kenya cup they should take away the captancy from Waqar and let him play in few matches to see his performance and then drop him if he does not perform.

I don’t know why PCB gives every player like 10 chances to perform if a player is good he will show his ture talent in 2 or 3 matches. I would kick the player out if he does not perform in 3 matches or even 2. For test I think one match is enough and its not hard to tell if the player is talented or not.

Nazir for sure need to go out along with Waqar.

**Australian newspapers celebrate Pakistan “melt down” **

MELBOURNE (Reuters) - Australian newspapers have heaped praise on their national cricket team for routing Pakistan for 59, their record low test score.

The Australian newspaper carried a front-page photograph of leg-spinner Shane Warne celebrating one of his four wickets on the first day of the second test on Friday with a headline “Pakistanis melt down to all-time low”.

The newspaper’s lead sports story made reference to the hot conditions in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

“Not that the weather was responsible for Pakistan’s appalling batting effort. They were simply out-thought and out-played by professional bowlers and catchers who didn’t miss a beat,” The Australian said.

Melbourne tabloid daily the Herald Sun’s main back-page heading was “DEEP FRIED, Aussies scorch Pakistan for record low 59 in 48c heat”.

The newspaper said “merciless Australia”, who won the first test in Sri Lanka, had taken a stranglehold on the three-match series.

“But the pressure on the Waugh brothers intensified later when Mark was dismissed for two and Steve a first-ball duck in successive balls,” the Herald Sun said of the 37-year-old twins who were dropped from the one-day side earlier this year.

Australia were 191 for four at the close.

The Age newspaper carried a main back-page heading which went straight to the selection debate: “Waughs fail, Paks collapse”.

“Australia scuttled Pakistan for its lowest-ever score … but the metaphorical noose still hovers over the Waugh twins after they both failed again,” the newspaper said.

The series is being played at neutral venues because of security fears in Pakistan.

Aaj Kaal Pakistan sports ku Mullah Umer Kee Bad duwa laagi hoi hai.. >>haar taraf se Jootay paar rahey hain...

---my only hope is w/ Karla Khan in squash (thora dil ko sakoon tu millay gaa...sirf match he dekh kaar)

Humm... question jee....yeh aap ku jaagtey main Khawab dekhney ke bemaree kaab se ho gaee hai??..just like I day dream about-- Laetitia Casta --Kambukht kabhee nahee milay gee!!

well Guys just an inquiry!!
I m reading posst about brinigng bak moin khan as he will bring a new life in this Pakistani team?? care to explain how is he gonna do that?
He is so inconsistent himself both with Bat and Gloves!
I agree Waqar's performance since kenya has been bad but How moin is gonna solve this issue??
On the Other hand Rashid Latif has bene brilliant! Even in previouos test match he played the face saving innings which avoided the follow-on! and he hardly drops a catch!

IF waqar has to be replaced it Must be Wasim, no one else can do this for Pakistani team!

Bear in mind that Inzimam, Youahana has been the cornerstones of pakistani batting in last couple of years and these tw being absent, we were always in trouble! Though hits second test was still pathetic but youhana might play hte second test and that can bring the much needed stability needed in middle order!

Also Afridi should be brought back in place of Razzaq for this test!
No matter he is not gonna score a big hundered but he Will score while he is in the middle!

Imran Farhat
Taufeeq Umar
Younis Khan
Yousif Youhana
Faisal Iqbal
Shahid Afridi
Rashid Latif
Waqr
Saqlain
Shoaib
Mohmmad Zahid (worth giving a try)
