Yeah, I've been really stressed out recently. It's mostly concerning my bridal outfit - I keep changing my mind. Like right now, I'm thinking my jacket over the skirt should be shorter - at the moment it's as long as the skirt, but looking around having it slightly shorter seems to be the in thing. I don't think I can change it now. Do you think it will look stupid? :(
Just a quick update regarding my question above, I was able to get it changed to the jacket being short - just above the skirt so you can see the border on the skirt when I stand. :)

let me give u the best tip my married best friend gave me. she told me, make sure U look good, and then dont focus on anything else. if anything upsets u, look at ur mehndi, ur dress, whatever turned out right and repeat to urself "aaaa I look so puuuurtyyyy!!!" :) it worked! everything went brilliantly and I was so happy

could ny1 help me out how manu embry suits should i take along with me for dawats and all honsetly speaking i never wear so much embdry dress and churiyan and make up i like to be simple but every1 saying i have to wear and my cuzn said "shadi ke baad chmak and all waley kapre with make up and jewllry karna hota hain har waqat" i hope this looks good i m confused all about this

salam girls!im a 2012 bride as well inshaAllah!thought id share some of my own experiences as a would be dulhan!
I got engaged in january within 2 days of the baat pakki..and those days were crazy as i had to get an outfit stitched..went to mohsin son;s..got my outfit from there and mashallah everyone loved it!it was pistachio and olive green.
my wedding has been planned for september..after choti eid inshallah...and i was massively confused about my wedding dresses for all the 3 days..like most of you..i had a bunch of pictures to choose from..which really does help in giving you an idea of what sort of look you;d want..but to be honest..once you check out the shops and designer stores..its a whole new world of amazing outfits and the pics u saved seem to be outdated:/
My mehndi dress is in a lighter shade of yellow,with a colorful duppatta...i got "inspired" by an outfit i saw at rani emaan;s store...but didnt want to dish out 85000 rupees for less kaam..just told my tailor and karigar the cut,style and the kaam i wanted...cost me around 40,000 rupees..
for the Valima dress,my mother in law,,bless her..was sweet enough to take me along to Fashion Ka ghar(isb branch) and choose the dress myself!she said its me who has to wear it so i better love what ill be wearing:) they showed me gowns and lehngas one after the other...thought theres no hope here buuttt...finally showed me something that i ended up realllly liking.. im just glad my in laws gave me the choice to pick out the vamila dress!
the biggest issue for me was selecting the main shadi jora..went through tons of pics..was confused like anything..but just yesterday my mom was like..let's check out rani emaan's outlet...khair we did check it out..i must say their customer service is excellent!they showed us almost all the bridal samples at their shop..explaining each type of cut and kaam..at the end..we zeroed in on 3 outfits..and then selected this AMAZINGly beautiful outfittt..it was sparkling all over!however my mom;s the best at bargaining and she brought down the price!i had to reduce some kaam from the back of the kameez and the duppatta!so we gave the order..and now im really excited abt my Rani Emaan Bridal!!i had no idea id be selecting something like this..but like i said before..u have to be there in the shops..as anything there could change your mind!
so my biggest worry which was the bridal outfit..has been done with..now im just concentrating on making my jahez outfits..carefully designing those myself..since this is in my control..no idea how the bari outfits would turn out to be like!
my Bhabi will be coming from the US..will tell her to get my makeup and lingerie supplies heh : )

hey hey hey everybody im an august 2012 bride ISA
and since we are on the topic of clothes id let you all know what im going to be wearing on my 3 days
1. mayon: yellow kameez with blue sleeves the one that look like they have churiyaan
2. baraat: maroon sharara with gold kaam
3. valima: light blue/ferozi with both gold and silver kaam
out of the 2 main joras my least favourite is the baraat jora a. because i hate the bail that it has and b. the colour is too dark for my skin and the makeup artist will have to do a very good job so the clothes dont wear me..the MIL chose both the kapray and i have decided it was easier for me so i could focus on studies and all that crap.. the sharara isnt ugly per say but nothing like i had imagined especially because i think i could rock the brighter reds...no complaints though because she put her heart into it
with the valima we had initially decided to go for a golden one but as neither of us are based in pakistan the MIL told a friend to get it and she fell in love with the ferozi one and so we were kind of like ok...with our hearts sinking because neither the MIL nor me or my mom liked that colour..but wow what a choice the woman has..it is absolutely to die for..not very heavy or very light just perfect as i am short so i dont think i can carry something very very heavy

hahaha thankyou..i already found a MUA pray that she does well other wise i will go through legit heartbreak i only moved to canada last sept and ihave heard of the MUA's greatness so fingers crossed she does well

im getting married in october 2012 IA...19 20 and 21 oct IA.... i am loving this thread...
let me tell u bout my joras...
mayon: dark yellow dupatta with full beautiful kaam of pearls, sitara,naqshi etc on it with side borders... kiran lappas would be added in stitching... and it would be angrakha frok with a long flare and choori darr pajama... angrakha stuff would be dull crinkle and on lining i would use jamawar...along angrakha slit there would be kaam..
mehndi.... colours not decided...style would be gharara...dupatta stuff decided of kundan zari... will get kaam done on gharara's got, border and 5 to 6 big motifs on both legs.confused abt shrt length..normally they are short for ghararas...sometimes i plan for short..sometime for the front short anf back long tail so that i could use the shrt after shadi with choridar pajama...SUGGEST ME SUMTHING ...and SUGGEST ME SUM COLOR COMBO TOO
