I'm gonna be a 2011 bride I'A!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so excited and nervous at the same time...I guess it hasn't hit me yet that im getting married....all I see is a shiny ring on my finger...gosh its very distracting...hard to concentrate on anything besides wedding talk!!! (But i guess that's the point!! lol)
So what are your wedding theme colors??....are you ladies registering anywhere?

^^ CONGRATS!!! When I first got my ring, I couldnt stop looking at it!!! Even while I was driving, I was staring at it...and I would NEVER take it off!! Now Im more relaxed about it! Im getting married in 3 months, and so excited, nervous, scared, but happy as well!! i love talking about my wedding, but dont want anyone to get annoyed, so I only talk about it when people ask me about it!
my nikkah outfit is white/ivory/gold, and my valima one is purple/red/emerald....I guess I went with the opposite of what people usually do....but we are having a small (by small I mean its still 200 people, but only nikkah and dinner), and then a joint reception.
I would have registered, but my fiance works in the states, so I will be moving there...cant take anything big with me!

hey guys, I would inshaAllah be getting married in June/July 2011. Date has not yet decided and I am super confused! My fiance is in Canada and I am in Pakistan. Wedding would held here and they will travel here. I am just so confuse and weird with everything. I guess I would need a lot of support from you guys. I have got two elder sisters but both of them are married and are in states so I am like :S well.. So far i have got nothing decided and I am just blank.

I don't know what you'd call my wedding but I've already done the Nikaah and it was in the most simplest way ever. am gonna have a so called "grand" affair next year in Pakistan (in-laws) and here as per my mums' wishes. haha, talk about weirdness..

The first step is to choose a date. Then you can start booking your hall/venues. Then also start researching different designers and find a style you like for your lengha. Think about colours and what suits you, and what you like best.

Yep I am trying to get the date settled asap. but lets see when that is done & I am so confused abt the designer and stuff I dont want something very expensive cuz its a wastage of money but something that is a bit moderate and also pretty pretty!Can u suggest some designers??

where are you located? If in Lahore, the most moderate designer, who has good stuff is Sarah Salman. She made my friends wedding lengha (3 years ago) for 110,000. And my friend also made some party wear stuff from her in the range of 10,000 - 20,000. Sarah Salman made my engagement outfit, but I got a really good deal on that, because she made the outfit for some girl, and then that girl decided she didnt want the outfit, so she sold it to me for only 9000RS!!!!! But this was about 2 years ago. I would highly recommend Sarah, as she is very nice, her work is really good, and her prices are still reasonable.
Also, you can try Zara Shahjahan (also in Lahore), her work is nice, its unique, and moderate prices.
If you are willing to spend a little more, Maria B is good to work with, and has nice stuff.

I just got my bridal and reception outfits!!! I am so in love!!!! They are even more beautiful than I thought!!!! I feel like a princess in them!!! I always watch wedding shows on tv, and my favourite one is "Say yes to the dress", and I see how white brides cry when they put on their dress, so I was thinking, "do Pakistani brides cry when they put on their outfits?"....and the answer for me is "YES"...I was so overwhelmed, and emotional!!! But they were good tears!!

nida, you should check out the extremely loooooooooooooooooong bridal pics thread. it's loaded with ideas. Don't worry so much about the clothes yet, first set a date & a venue. And no need to stress, it takes all of the fun out of being engaged!
