ok…I have been waiting for someone to open this thread, and since no one else did it, I thought I would take the initiative and do it, since I am a 2011 bride!
I will be getting married in March 2011 inshallah.

hmmm... I will be a 2012 bride but I am having an engagement party on Januaru 1st, 2010 Inshallh.
To clarify: I am already engaged but going to have a party for it because I did not have a big engagement. It was only close friends and family but my fiance's parents want to celebrate because he is their last kid who is not married. :)
We can talk about how the rishta happened?
How long engagement lasted?
What colors we are planning on wearing?
How well we get along with our inlaws?
etc, etc

Manorani- I will also be a june bride... its the best time to get married!! (in my opinion because then you can be at the beach and really travel without being cold... unless u prefer the winter snow)

Want to be a modern bride for walima - look at the colors of blue, green, grays, and creams… dress type is still ??? I want something like a gown that I can easily dance in.

My rishta was for my friend's brother... he liked me and I told him if he is interested he can send his mom to talk to mine... instead of just his mom, his entire immediate familky of 20 people came and I accepted.
I never thought of him like that before he told me his feelings about him but I feel like I do love him now... hehhe blushing soo i guess it could be a mixed marriage. hehehe
Then we got engaged but now having a party in december.. I will be wearing pink. I ordered my outfit online to be customised... when it arrives I will post up a picture.
I definitely want to wear the traditional red or maroon on my wedding but fashion might change by 2012 so we will see.
heheh.. i will discuss inlaws later too.. too much typing involved lol

My sis is die to get married in Mar 2011 IA. Still have to sort dates out IA. Her engagement was last month pretty low key, arranged marriage to her consent, its been going on for over a year and shes had alot of time to get to knw the guy and she seems happy..hope for the best!!

I got engaged officially in November 2009, then had an engagement party in January 2010, and now getting married in March 2011 InshAllah. Wasnt an arranged marriage, and Im so excited!
My MIL has done all the shopping from their side, and InshAllah will be coming back from Pakistan next week with everything for my bari. They have already shown me the valima outfit, its from Rani Emaan, and it is gorgeous!
My nikkah outfit is from @YAS, and he designed it just for me (YEAH!), so that means its one of a kind! Well he took one of his other designs that I really liked (it was part of his formal line), and he re-vamped it to make it appropriate for a wedding.
I will be going to Pakistan in January InshAllah to do the rest of my shopping, and Im so excited about it!
For my mehndi, Im going with a Moroccan theme, and yesterday the moroccan lanterns that I ordered for centerpieces came, and they are adorable!
One of my biggest fears (or you can call it a saddness) is that I will be moving and leaving my parents/family/friends. I live in Canada, but my fiance lives in the states, so I will be moving there. but on the bright side, his family all lives in Canada as well, so we will be back a few times a year to visit.
Im getting pretty nervous, cause there is only about 4 months left now, and even though all the planning is pretty much done, I still feel anxious!!!!

I had a pretty long engagement, got engaged in 08, and am now finally getting married in 2011, so for those of you with long engagements, hang in there!
Anyone getting married on 11/11/11? What are your dates everyone?
