So I see all these brides posting that their wedding is coming up in 1 month, 2 weeks, this wknd... then they disappear! Of course it's understandable that once you're married you have better things to do than post here! But if any of you are here, how did the wedding go?? Mine was 2 weeks ago and Alhumdolillah it was great! Best wedding I've ever been too :) Really though, I was so stressed leading up to it and couldn't wait for it to be done with but at the end of the Valima I was begging for the night not to end! I was exhausted but having so much fun... the events turned out great and I looked great (mA) so I was loving the attn! Hope to hear all your weddings went very well, iA!

My MUA was Fero Saleh from Glamour Studios and she was amazing! She did a really great job on me! She was so great at listening to what I wanted, giving her opinions but not forcing them on me. At the wedding EVERYONE asked me and my mother for her number!
As for advice, I would say give yourself ample time to get everything done so you're not late. Being late is just so stressful and it really ruins the day. If you're late with your MUA, you're late for photos, entrance, dinner, everything! I was so relaxed before the wedding that I was actually at the hall early fixing the ribbons on my centerpieces, helping my friends set up the cake table, evening ironing clothes for friends that were getting ready in my hotel room!!
The other thing is, make sure you have some space for yourself on your wedding day. If you can't have a private room and bathroom to get ready, stay in a hotel with a friend. Most families are super chaotic on the day of and with so many ppl staying over it's sure to get in your way. Plus they won't stop asking you q's!
Also, ORGANIZE the heck out of every last detail way before the wedding, the agenda I mean, then a few days before the event pass the agenda to 1 or 2 ppl and explain everything to them. So if anyone has any q's, they can go to the agenda ppl so NO ONE is calling and harassing you on the day of! I gave a very formal agenda presentation a cpl nights before the wedding, displayed on our tv. Everyone laughed, but they also thought it was super helpful! Also, give your friends and family small manageable roles and make sure they understand them, dumping too much on one person is dangerous.
I did all this and I'm certain it's what made me so relaxed on my wedding day. I got ready in a hotel with a good friend, my 2 brothers were the go-to-guys for the agenda so no one called me, and I had loads of time never had to worry about being late and making ppl wait for me.
Also, if you're organized and not rushed, you can actually enjoy each moment of your wedding. I really miss mine and wish I could do it over and over again! Good luck ladies!

Awesome advice! will def. make an agenda now for my family and friends. Inshallah my outfits and wedding dress should be here withen a week or so from Pakistan, really hoping for something beautiful

I am amazed I've never owned clothes like that before. I sound like a complete bhooki bichari walking around the house with my clothes screaming lol!

Awieee! I am sooo happy for you mashAllah and totally feel you!!! When I got my clothes I was ecstatic, its been years since Ive had pretty formals and now I cant wait to get done with the wedding and have a chance to wear em! :D

i am going to run away with my fiance.
i am waiting on my outfits was not happy about walima outfit so re doing the outfit and also my new bedroom carpet my nephew decided to spill ribena over it. My eyebrow lady decided to leave the salon i go to ... and worst thing is i have lost my appetite for food and when i do eat my stomach is getting all twisted and i feel sick :(

Hahha how funny. I can't count number of times I called my fiance suggesting we run off to Vegas! Tough it out... it's totally worth it! Every girl should have that day where she gets to be amazingly fabulous and everyone tells her she is! When you get there, you'll be glad you stuck through it and just did everything you could to make it great. Get a massage, facial, and soak in a hot tub - you'll feel better :)
Also, I hated my valima dress before the event. It wasn't ugly, I just didn't care for the colour, too much purple and way too bright. But when it all came together, it looked amazing. Even my mom, who hated the valima dress but loved the wedding dress, couldn't decide which day I looked better once she saw it all on the valima day.
PS: losing an eyebrow lady is awful! I'm very sorry! Some ppl might think it's silly to care, but I totally understand how you feel. I've moved away from mine since the wedding and it makes me so sad every time I need to have them done!

What happened to the cards, MM? Is it worth redoing?
They're ugly! The background colour is mustard colour with red writing on top and tacky flowers. To top it off, they missed out a letter in my Father-in-law's name. I thought about redoing them but I don't think I should spend money on invites all over again.
escapist - yes I've always had to rely on people in Pakistan to send me clothes until I visited Pakistan myself and got clothes two years ago. Those clothes now look old because shalwar is completely out of style and so many of those outfits, I've worn once or twice or never been worn!

and I forgotttttt to tell you guys about my bridal shower too! I themed it Paris Fashion Night and since that happend, it’s starting to feel more like “wedding is coming”!

Venue- done
photographer- done
My Outfits- almost done except for the top of my baraat outfit. Which the lady keeps saying will be ready in a week... but it never is
His Outfits- still need tie for the waalima outfit
Jewelry- almost done too except for the naath. arghhhh I am considering not wearing one because I can not find one. :(
Shoes- done but I do not like the baraat ones at all so will need to buy a new pair.
MUA- Not even close to being done. panic
Guest list- half way done
Everytime I think I am done with something, 10 more things comeup :( crying (like seriously teary eyed right now). ARghhh I have a statistics final tomorrow which I will flunk if I dont get off of GS right now!!!

Oh and my cards are completely screwed up and nothing like what I had wanted or imagined. :(
And went to look at furniture... but fiance likes contemporary style, while I like traditional. Sooo I compromised and getting a lowwww bed!! With no canopy :(
We can not even agree on the size of the bed. I said if I compromise on the style of it.. then I should get to pick the size. However, he keeps insisting on a queen, while I want a King! I have always had a king bed, ever since I was like 10. I can not imagine sleeping on a tiny lil queen and sharing it with someone!!!
One thing we do agree on is the color of the room/wallpaper... blue! yeyyyy
He likes everything simple while I like extravagant. soo alot of battles waiting to be faught! lol sarcastic if someone couldnt tell I dont want a lecture

My wedding is coming up in mid June and I have 5 weeks left now. The tension is starting to build. Still have a lot of little things left but I have delegated to my siblings and to my fiance at this point. In spite of that few things left that only I can take care of. We just closed on a house, so looking at furniture and stuff for the house. All I'm thinking is that I need to plan a spa day for myself ASAP. I wanted to get that bridal glow going already!!!
