There were pics of another couple where I loved the girl’s makeup (omar Chishti and Mahwish Irfan) but I cant find them now.

If you were getting ready near me - I would offer to do your makeup! I mostly work with models now a days anyways Both looks you have chosen are so beautiful. Espeiclaly the first one… that is exactly how I am planning on doing my own walima makeup!

bad thing is that I can not go and check out their portfolio, as I am going to Pakistan 10 days before my wedding. Are there any pictures from them? I dont recall coming across them going through the threads.

Umm, most of them are being done by my khala in karachi. Bridals have been ordered from PLk and Jabeens. No one wants to take responsibility for the jewelry, so we are just going to purchase it when we get there! That means I will just have to get what I find, but oh well! what to do!

I am still struggling on my mehndi outfit... My finace really reaquested that I keep yellow as dominant color, and there are multiple pretty outfits that I came across on GS, but I havent found one that is really unique. Plus it is really hard to choose from pictures. I wish I could personally go to shops and pick out the fabric, and kaam, and get things done that way. I am thinking of gota kaam on the mehndi outfit, so any designs or ideas?

I had the same issue. Just had to trust what my relatives said, and it worked out well. I had a similar look to the pic. But that was 6years ago.

Hi guys! So I have another update. My bridals have been ordered and thats about it. My wedding is in in July and it doesnt feel like I am getting married. We have half the stuff done I think but so much more needs to be done. I dont have my bridals in my hands yet nor any of my jehez or bari. The cards have been ordered and will be here in a couple of days. Ok but on all top this, my mom broke her leg! I feel like it takes forever to get things done and now on top it my mom gets sick.

Lol this so sounds like me 3 months ago! My mom missed the last step on the stairs and was in a cast throughout Jan-March! But honestly, I wasn't expecting her to help w much anyway. My wedding is next week-end, I didn't have any of my stuff until a week or two ago and it's no big deal! I even only booked my mehndi hall/decor last week-end. But I do recommend getting the big stuff out of the way so you can focus on all the little stuff that comes up in the last month - cause there's A LOT of little stuff!

That is awesome that it worked for you, but you know what? my relatives in karachi have nooo idea of the karachi salons. Most of our weddings have been out of karachi and the last one we had in karachi was 17 years ago!!!! lol.. so no one is giving any opinion.. My cousin told me I should try Mahrose, Najla since they are close to home in Gulshan.. This shows how little do they know of the salons! errr...

I’m situated in the Tri-State/New England area of the U.S. unfortunately I have no idea of anyone in Karachi that could do that… im very unfamiliar with the city since my family is from Lahore. Hopefully someone else on here can help you!!

Im in the same boat as you…Shaadi in July… doesn’t even feel like im getting married and do not have any of my clothes yet… just got my invitations the other day and my mom injured her back and now can not drive, needs bed rest, and aggressive physical therapy. I think the best thing we can do is focus on the positive, remember to breathe, and also remember its not just the wedding to prepare for.. but all the stuff afterwards too (which I feel I have a bit more control over since me and my fiance talk everything out). Wishing you all the best and duas to your mom for a speedy recovery inshAllah! Keep us posted!

Hey nene23! well we went to JJ's lawn exhibition at palm..one of their hall was being decorated for a wedding..and I fell in love with the place right away:D The deco in the hall was white which looked extremely elegant with the wooden floor and the fountain at the start of the hall..im describing it in a cheesy way hehe but I can't help it:P I asked my dad to plan the same deco for my wedding day.. I love the fact that its near the beach..pretty romantic;):P but its not the location and deco that made us choose this place..its because their charges are pretty reasonable(guess its because its new thats y)..we went to an event decorator and the quote he gave us for the same deco(on kesc community plot-an empty plot) was much more than palm.. so palm was the best option for us:)

hmm well to be honest I dont like Avari and Mariott type places..the weddings there look more like a formal meeting:P you are right about the snobby-lobby part:p hehe Country club, plam and creek club are good choices..PAF is another good option..the place costs around 3.5lakh-just for the rent..its all grass..the deco on the grass looks pretty elegant..other than that..there are many community plots available..like KESC community plot near bbq tonight..its an empty plot..deco would be done by your decorator as per your choice..another option is beach view club..ask your relatives to check these places aswell:) goodluck:D

The shopping scene in isb is pretty small-scale..some of those high-end designers have their outlets and some have retail at a joint boutique featuring many designers at a time..but there arnt any malls to go around in..atleast of what iv seen so far..i heard there are some large shopping complexes in Rawalpindi but havnt gotten around to exploring it much. There are quite a few non-designer boutiques in jinnah super/super market (i havnt gotten the hang of which is which yet) but honestly speaking the fabric and work quality is dreadful. The only shops with good quality are those that sell cloth not ready-made garments..or those that make on order...you really should go ahead with establishing something here im sure it'll kick off great :)

Sahr91 - you should definitely go for F-10 or F-11 Markazes if you're planning for it to be upscale yet generally accessible. If you want an elitist location then F-6/F-7 would be best but they are already so saturated with boutiques that rely on their regular clientele who have the brand-name craze stuck so far up their behinds they wouldn't be able to physically encounter a new or different boutique unless it became coffee-table talk. In a nutshell - It all depends on your target market :) Do let me know when you're going to start though I'd love to see your work!

Less than 2 months left for my wedding! And then honeymoon. :-) It looks like we might be buying a house too so, crazy busy!!!!!! And then fiance wants to buy some furniture before we move in...and I'm like can't we wait until we get back from the honeymoon? Stressed out and can't wait for the wedding for be here already. Going to Vegas with a few girlfriends and my sisters...hopefully can relax a little while we're there.
