I am new here and I too am a 2011 bride..4th june to be specific..at first I decided to read all the posts in this thread I even read a few of them but the more I read the more stressed out I am..my date got fixed last week and I havent done any preps yet..I am so screwed:( can anyone help me please..I am from Karachi so a karachite could definitely help! the venues for barat and valima have been decided..as for the MUA i'll be going to sabs for barat(I want a bold look for barat) and Bina Khan for valima(I want a natural and pastel look for valima)..but the most important thing is yet undecided-dresses for barat and valima..I dont even know the lastest trends or the colors which are IN these days..my mom wants me to go for the traditional red for barat and my MIL wants me to wear offwhite/white on my valima..but I have no idea which combo should I go for with red and offwhite

Congratulations!! your venues are decided, MUA decided that leaves you with the bridal wear and photographer! dont panic or get worried you can decide that within a week too.. you are not that behind the schedule :)

Search the bridal pics thread, you will see lots of great cuts,designs, and colour combo's there! You'll see a lot of the same stuff over and over again, and maybe only a few that you'll LOVE. But be patient, cause you only want a few that you love so it's easier to choose from. Also, start at the end and work your way backwards for the latest trends.
I'm noticing that peaches/corals are really in for bridals. It looks great!

Hey A squared..thank u so much for the advice..I did check the bridal pics thread..a bit of it actually..because it is such a long thread..impossible to go through all of it..secondly most of them were designer wear..my range is only 1lakh and designers are so expensive these days..our family goes to Zardozi for bridal dresses..I'll be going there too..I'll get a custom made dress from there..with the style and color of my choice..thats why I want to know the latest trends so that I can get my dress made accordingly:)

funky nails..I have no idea about the venue charges..but I'll ask my dad and fiance 2mrw then will let you know..just a rough idea-for sunset my fiance told me they are being charged 85k for a gathering of 1000 people..this is only for the venue..no deco/catering included..as for palm gardens(seaview) we are going to have a gathering of 500 people..and its around 2,35000 including the deco(catering not included)..the deco is nothing too fancy but its simple/elegant as compared to the price..u should check them out they are great..before we decided..we also went to few of the event decoratrs and the same deco was costing us alot more..
Hey Sahr91 how did you decide the venue? My weddings going to be in Karachi and I have NO idea whatsoever about the places there...My inlaws are considering the The Palm beach place you mentioned..and the Creek club (I think??) , and some Country Club for the Valima but we dont know of any good place other than Avari and Mariott for the wedding sob :'( I really wanted a simple-garden-wedding and not a snobby-lobby-wedding :(
Does anyone know if karachi has rental farms? like areas to book for those big tent things? PLZ let me know!!
Ima December bride now :D I was supposed to be a summer bride but we cant find venues and the family needs to fly in from so many places its getting hard to coordinate...now we're thinking Winter! Im so happy I get more time with my parents and chill till then!!! :D :D :D

Im currently in Islamabad but will have the wedding in Karachi! I started checking out things when I heard about the wedding and my mum went and gave some simple formal wear orders to this place called Shaadi ka Ghar somewhere in Jinnah Super? I dont want to get any fancy things because the prices are so crazy and I dont think ill be wearing much of this stuff when I go back to Dallas. And I'm not into the designer-wear craze either.
Have you started anything yet? Where are you from? and when will you start?
